Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
* J, ?3 U" a# T6 O# n% mWorks co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
9 {; a/ j- Y$ K3 {3 v5 [* W' tMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
1 X9 R- u: _7 n3 h2 OMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
, T: v! D+ j7 N# n& d7 p! G9 M# PIs knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
3 z/ F+ S- Y6 P1 K7 U! XParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
Qualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
% G. @, M' _2 Q, @6 DComputer skills an asset.
4 @( s: N  Q! fAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
