Responsibilities:
7 r! v' E; f5 `9 ?- |3 D" E-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
- m5 M1 m5 _! E8 l7 Q4 ~% w$ z- X-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
2 g4 Z. v, V. i. s, s-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
" f3 J* j' w$ x! V-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

2 ?1 y# |& U/ o; K. x$ a/ rKey Qualifications:
4 O2 {: A2 L# L# U5 l-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
- c4 X/ r! _2 w. N" T$ a2 T1 N% i-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
4 {9 D% _, E# _, O2 p0 H-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license


Assets:
- C- [+ e8 }, W6 ~2 N-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
9 v; T" C* ]8 R7 O-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
$ X9 T6 k% M6 \2 l2 I8 ~' X-        Skills in marketing & promotions
-        Some evening and weekend work may be required

Other: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
