Responsibilities:
7 r! v' E; f5 `9 ?- |3 D" E- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth' i: Z" W3 ]+ b5 a
- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
- m5 M1 m5 _! E8 l7 Q4 ~% w$ z- X- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
2 g4 Z. v, V. i. s, s- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
" f3 J* j' w$ x! V- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

4 O2 {: A2 L# L# U5 l- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences4 o: M) b/ _( P/ t- _
- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
- c4 X/ r! _2 w. N" T$ a2 T1 N% i- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
4 {9 D% _, E# _, O2 p0 H- Experience doing program development. n0 Z+ G, h2 f
- Strong organizational and coordination skills$ Q3 f. c4 U( Z: f$ x
- Self-directed and able to take initiative2 k' a' U' {2 j0 U: j4 g; ?
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset, I S9 R1 Y/ T5 a4 _0 f
- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license; @3 M) b# @! o1 Z% i) q2 T' y

Assets:
- C- [+ e8 }, W6 ~2 N- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation- L' j. r( X# R- b& v$ r
- Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
9 v; T" C* ]8 R7 O- An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health

- Some evening and weekend work may be required
