Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.

Compensation: Based on experience & qualifications.

Responsibilities:
4 o0 S+ h; R, y2 j! Z( B' ~-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
2 b6 ?) A" Z1 @. M1 u-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
9 s8 @' q, u- n2 {  ?" N0 Z% _+ O-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:
-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
" ]+ F/ C- `, q2 p-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
-        Experience doing program development
-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
8 l6 S7 `0 D' l: ^-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
- M3 L! G) j+ a. t-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

, Q/ a2 P! U9 lAssets:
-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
-        Skills in marketing & promotions
; j# k; H: _8 d. `7 Y# _1 ~- F-        Some evening and weekend work may be required


Other: The successful candidate will be required to undergo a police security check and child welfare check at their own expense.
