To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:* y& D7 H6 i* n R' p( S! }
' r. x* w) H5 G' Z1 q; E/ A
have at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician : [( M, V4 U& w& ]/ K
Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.$ C! z9 O( } z* b1 V* p3 D
( p3 p# ~2 e3 ~& i/ q# w
complete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office, d+ U" `( A6 b# {& f: n1 U7 K

pay the non-refundable fees as identified on the application noted above 6 p+ \* m. ^8 |) ^8 @8 v8 O) e
This application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.1 v! o5 u' \5 c
