A baby food recall is underway as a popular Heinz baby cereal may contain elevated levels of a mycotoxin.* z. X4 r% Y# t& v7 M7 R
( [$ @2 v4 H: k P2 JThe Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Heinz Canada are warning parents about ‘Heinz Mixed Cereal, Stage 2, From 6 Months’. The best before date codes located on the top left hand corner of the package are ‘BB/MA 10 DE 26’ and ‘BB/MA 10 DE 29’.$ U7 k( w+ x8 o; z& N. Z# v
No illnesses have been reported from consuming the cereal. Heinz Canada says that the cereal may contain elevated levels of Ochratoxin A (OTA).

CFIA says that if a child has consumed the food, there is no need to seek medical attention since the substance is not harmful when eaten as part of a healthy diet over the short term.
