) n; K8 E; p0 D% C& W& Z8 U The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
-  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
( R, r0 X. C5 c; I-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
/ f' u% o& d  m  B1 K# O; n-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
; U. J- L. b9 a# x, h-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
3 D1 w* [5 Y3 t( c-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;

Education/Experience  
" f0 `4 }& j- S: U( p" N - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
, H6 R2 l1 f* h3 O+ }+ r% k-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
' m6 Z7 N' G0 g2 N. s" b' w-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
# b; s7 L8 F5 u5 z-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
