3 ^/ A: S) e( L9 K4 N( ]4 BNo, it breaks down slowly because of its high C:N. It makes a very attractive mulch as well, so if you have a lot of it I suggest spreading it on top of autumn leaves around trees or shrubs, or at the back of the bed where weeding is a chore.* `% g0 p4 K J2 g1 n
5 h4 [% \) F5 @8 w6 ZSpruce needles are another matter - because they are thicker, and have a pointy end, they can poke you as you spread your compost - wear gloves and you will be fine.
