2 L1 P. N# ~+ u, V5 pNo, it breaks down slowly because of its high C:N. It makes a very attractive mulch as well, so if you have a lot of it I suggest spreading it on top of autumn leaves around trees or shrubs, or at the back of the bed where weeding is a chore.2 J8 Y a$ ]5 H# y! s7 q* @- Y

Spruce needles are another matter - because they are thicker, and have a pointy end, they can poke you as you spread your compost - wear gloves and you will be fine./ a: Z! l) R% W' G: K$ l+ M
