% D7 w- t$ L- {& aThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
Eligibility Criteria
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
# V- Z6 b8 U* t* i2 n4 X* e# a•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
•Be eligible to work in Canada
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
•Lack access to professional networks

Time Commitment
8 x# C$ r* u; ?% S# }6 R+ S' HThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
