THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:
24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
' [; s" Z% G; b/ LEligibility Criteria
4 C- I% Q3 ]% Z) I9 yAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
& b# B8 z  i5 y3 j( A/ a. J•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
4 e' V6 j; T- S' u7 Q•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
9 L3 }) |2 {2 n+ o  r* [•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
1 ]/ U( F; E& e- }; K' X' d* i•Be eligible to work in Canada
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
•Lack access to professional networks
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
Time Commitment
; R3 R' J% d) x& b/ ^( zThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
