! ~$ a. T: ^' S4 R1 B" k9 GThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
' s( N1 d. g( H5 w; s2 nEligibility Criteria
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
; s0 g# x# ^) U, {/ B•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
  J5 }; r( ~. |1 e* L/ R•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
•Be eligible to work in Canada
3 }  f( K: ]- ]•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
4 |- N8 P2 _5 A/ [; |" W•Lack access to professional networks
5 R  j& v* {( ]. m•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
Time Commitment
" ?: P$ ?# f2 j  q- ^The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
