Police Service Preparation Program

: s$ n0 p& t- V+ T6 p4 Z- W% VThis program is for immigrants and members of visible minorities who have an interest in a career in law enforcement.

; U& D" G9 [6 M, e) _Start date: November 2, 2009 End date: March 31, 2010.
Programs run from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm

: {' r% `) l7 v# _# ^1 E. K/ K9 MYou must be/have:
# _3 ]+ z# _1 `6 s• Alberta High School Diploma (or equivalent)
* f, r. A9 i. L2 C( E( u• Unemployed or underemployed
* ~! ~# O' f' ^) O# r2 }• Minimum 18 years of age
4 I' p0 \2 ?( _" _1 d• Good moral character
$ I; |! W( [! X: @  J3 ~2 n; J+ Z• Good health and physical condition
• Good written and verbal communication skills – must be at a CLB 6+
• Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license
$ u. O0 p8 F$ B, e+ n• No criminal convictions for which a pardon has not been granted
; z2 C* I( I* P& B• Eligible for financial assistance, or willing to pay tuition
• Citizenship documents: Permanent Resident Card or recent Canadian
