J+ r. g, c' m6 JChange for Children is looking for a Program and Administrative Assistant who is highly motivated, has excellent ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, be able to manage a flexible work plan and take direction from Program Managers to ensure timely and consistent administrative and program support to our vibrant organization.

CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

Key administrative duties:

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

( d$ l' e  W9 X3 k0 h2 p• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual." ~1 ]6 n8 g7 c* d3 v- Y

5 V* I" l, y8 Y8 x. }6 _7 J/ _• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

5 v9 p" M2 a% c. _- x• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

: v7 [( z3 n& D" p$ f& O• Provide administrative support for public engagement events and mail outs.* }$ q9 \: y8 }* i- N2 t

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

6 c) M* }: g4 b• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions2 b* G% t% J# l( t* y( O

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.- a; j4 u  E) X  F1 O: f* j

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting1 i( J- `# [# u. }

0 a+ r7 b# Z5 M• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.% }* f- N2 @$ A( {; L

5 X! m/ M3 Q: U+ K+ y6 M: BSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.

Spanish language abilities are an asset.
