CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

Key administrative duties:

: }5 K0 r0 ~3 n' s• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

• Complete data entry in various programs.

• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.* W% P5 S% n6 ^5 M- ^3 f0 h" u. z

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.

• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.+ _1 ?" O( _/ ~

• Support maintenance of Human Resources records and the development of employee handbook.

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:

• Maintain inventory of communication materials.+ I: h' f. p7 e) p

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources.

• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.

Fund Development

• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions3 e8 r( o: F3 T! R- z& W- k
4 m3 J Q! G) d7 a• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.7 S/ k. j8 l6 L* z( h2 T
* {, z1 k6 W+ f* ^• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.

• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting4 _8 A9 y' o, J5 c+ X4 r

• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.% M! }7 `# c: ^8 l9 h9 ^! o
% C# [; @& r3 x/ z% ~! {3 i% VSkills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.7 ]$ S' X# Y G p+ {6 O

Spanish language abilities are an asset.
