A 20-year-old woman has been charged after a tenant found the dead body of a baby girl under a bed in a north-end Edmonton home last week.: Z) ~: w. _! S! z; C Z$ w/ {$ ~% S

Naomi Russell-Simpson is charged with committing an indignity to a body, neglect to obtain assistance in child birth and concealing the body of a child.) p, g8 A6 u* [1 D4 z- d4 O( _7 ]

The 20-year-old college student was granted bail Tuesday.

0 q, B/ W! _( q* e6 B( mPolice have released few details on the autopsy results, but said Tuesday the girl was born alive. The girl's death is still being labelled as suspicious and not a homicide.

The infant was found on March 19 when a man sharing a home at 69 Street and 130 Avenue, who would only identify himself as Wayne, entered the basement suite to do some laundry., R- k- }' M! k. J, U

Wayne said his dog began barking and eventually led him to the body. He and his girlfriend called police after they saw a small hand in the bag.% m% S/ b9 ?3 R- ~) \- N+ b

Police said the girl's body was wrapped in towels and placed in a plastic bag.+ R, }2 I* m. |8 K. _- U
