Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: + `& Z# U! X. T3 P; ? d1 q* h& J, V" m

! m5 M7 a+ Q1 g dPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events: + W# d& j( u$ O, l0 o4 ]" v
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
( i/ Z" B( E3 J4 B& S· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
+ ~/ u. F- L+ m4 ^" Bwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
" e6 Y' m2 {# ?! kadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure ) G! g t1 X8 W H4 c, F, y. q3 b
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

& Q% V- C) M0 \3 SAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
7 `/ ^4 _& a3 } j6 Y" `· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 7 l+ D0 \8 E/ L3 \
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
# \. T2 W) g, z! r% t2 J· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers Z" D2 L6 m' g* p2 ~9 Y `% q
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers

Qualifications: ( T9 I x) S8 n; H7 A3 Y R' N/ B
· Completion of 12th
' ]9 f3 A' i" n" g) m6 m# _% O9 P Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
$ u9 T* b6 m* \: j+ XAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
) ~: k* ^7 N; a" R! e: L· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct ! `' i8 e+ p! N0 X
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events * {7 j1 J6 }6 w' r
· Experience working with and managing volunteers
/ K8 o1 l0 I( a% L· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors 3 q, H- H0 E" e2 c1 y' X
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events 6 M/ B5 I+ {# l9 x
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training $ O7 A2 q/ Q/ ~ ~3 T% F
· Security Clearance

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
