Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special

9 R6 X$ u/ C" OPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
) Q- Y! N& Q0 a# U0 y: N· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
6 g; V; q: _5 N! Q5 q· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist ! A0 o T+ O3 f, ?
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 1 U L, i- K3 z* X1 \/ @+ [) R
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
: `/ D6 m5 P. C$ I tset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

Duties: Volunteer Coordination
9 K! a$ @; m2 uAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
+ I0 o- W, ~' M6 ~( h, }· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 3 c* a. Q& x6 ]% h" D
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
* c3 N8 U; @& f$ q) D8 |· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers / T/ h; _( y- S" M8 Z" V& A
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers / l4 ]/ w% D1 N K! n+ a8 q; ]( c
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

Qualifications: ! Y, [! j# a( S: k0 x
· Completion of 12th
% s4 |( I0 |% ?/ Q7 l/ x9 V* y Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation $ i% D6 t; q7 l$ m( \
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. - z, T8 ~) c# t! s/ \6 R: i0 o
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 5 y% c( ~5 B9 w! c$ ]3 ]
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
- t" y! ? I) @· Experience working with and managing volunteers 0 S: V8 m' \% G
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
; D( X& I. b3 u' k$ W. q* n8 B% p· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
