Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special " Y1 P9 O' Q4 c! v; W3 j
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: ) `8 S# E- l, Y, ]* Y! I
8 {8 y+ K( ]; X6 ODuties: Special Events
7 ~7 n7 N/ L" e$ d7 {' qPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
1 u: X& d! X9 D% }7 T- ~/ V, b· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee + r" S7 N) S2 \7 z( ~
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
4 W% w+ n, S- g8 A; M+ r3 {% Fwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the . u; c- W* v0 f- g" p) m1 K
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure % ~" y7 Q( V# T
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. / m S. C, w4 {4 g* I& ], A
· Attend and manage Special Events

Duties: Volunteer Coordination
: R( s% N* D) d+ B' oAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
# O Y5 h7 P: w6 b, Z/ N& s0 r2 _· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
1 J' s8 T7 ]* _& z% }5 Y% }· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers + r5 p$ \8 H e; ^: I
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers . b/ M; S# W7 ?2 a3 Z, I% i$ V6 D
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
/ W" {8 _0 ~% o- ?# d$ |" D4 j I1 S· Complete program administration, statistics and records 9 J, m+ t; L% q7 N
1 r4 D/ M& J7 Q% B) V w; ?Qualifications:
* I8 z% Q7 v$ m; ~: B% ^· Completion of 12th, c9 B' O2 P: {& f5 B
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
, R' \0 b- r" d/ |1 X" h# AAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
- @) N' c1 a; W. V· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct ! G$ J C, f# [8 T/ H
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events : d6 B1 D" ]9 o7 _
· Experience working with and managing volunteers 9 @# p3 d; k# o2 y% ?
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors

· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training 7 B: z/ M9 e" x" Q
· Security Clearance

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work
