Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

# h* c6 ?8 ~* V3 kActivity Planning and Daily Activity
6 r) ~$ d9 I- }) }, V/ p• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
, _" Q- Z% R% h* j+ S7 x• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. % A P- t8 G: v/ |7 S2 }
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, ( ?3 e* j: `: G5 K3 Q* I* _$ d8 f7 A& q
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.2 G9 Y8 D% F2 Q" M
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.0 m/ `, Q8 y. A) i- @
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:; u! w0 e4 x' {0 e i7 z
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting5 v- m( P3 ]) @" w& f" Q7 M/ L8 q
• Experience with children) N' {- x( m( w: h, Q3 x0 `8 r3 p
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 0 V$ D5 N! h3 g# ?
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.7 i4 ?% ^$ p" g4 @' @$ t
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.8 w- _3 @# P4 e6 S% L. _
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources4 W: u2 q- I- l7 J, |8 d U
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
% c0 k) T9 J7 o9 \; b7 n• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check $ E* L+ b; X, l" t
