Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students

Key Responsibilities Include
4 J# W: f5 R* I yActivity Planning and Daily Activity
/ n( [6 k* u1 X# I• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
: C* ~ S# F, L( {5 e& x• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. # b% Z% }0 N5 b- f+ [. o
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
& e1 t8 X. ?/ M2 w. f) o• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.; h; s: [2 T8 \; t$ a- _
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
1 ]- U" ? W A/ l- t" o- \• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.4 u7 i' y2 `2 F9 f- T7 T

The successful candidate will have:1 @7 `+ z/ M5 q
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
9 Z. V" s0 Y, @• Experience with children% i' a4 G i8 w0 D! M
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
3 q# w$ X7 t+ j4 C B: W• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.0 |4 N1 W" l+ A5 V# w
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

+ r" |8 k; c4 N4 C# Q/ p( ~• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check 8 j: f5 b4 C* r6 X& b% K/ Q
• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
