Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
! e1 {9 D& I/ I/ @6 s1 c(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

: g+ I, ~( P, ?) w7 BActivity Planning and Daily Activity$ m! ]" H) b# S6 T+ z. @
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
& O+ G! L/ N- \• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
0 o( Z7 q3 A/ b- k" E/ W' \: P• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, & `0 h$ |' j- M/ c" _. G; o
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.; v% `; M( t$ J7 {- f: ]! I P
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
# T9 F* b' P2 V% O8 N4 L, b. h0 H• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:. X# D( S. ?) _
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
' k1 ?; z0 f2 X L$ K) z• Experience with children
" M" E$ P7 D- c+ x• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth . w. b' r/ ~) ~2 ?
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
! K/ m3 d; O+ }• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.- M: [/ T% S) q' ?# W1 j8 z; r0 D
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources

• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
