Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
- O3 M1 g: E( N2 E( ^& {# T4 r1 P(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

+ g& k: [8 O/ U# rKey Responsibilities Include
, @, ]2 A2 }" @1 K# y0 wActivity Planning and Daily Activity
6 U+ N$ Y" ^0 I# j6 t, j" l; r& r( b•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
% q% T& w- o& z3 j3 ]! N•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
4 {; r0 A3 v3 X0 h! R•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
4 F, [6 @, ?7 t9 R- D•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.
! r" w; ^& f8 l! e
The successful candidate will have:
* R4 D) w$ W6 @/ C( a•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
•        Experience with children
•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
7 P* {& W& h; `) M6 z•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
0 X! O+ S! f- ~) r1 B4 [•        A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
; _- B$ s* }( i% |•        A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
