summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
! E- v, F5 I/ H4 W memerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video % ?9 w1 B- A3 y) y( N& j: O
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
4 D+ ~- E! M" Q- ^2 ?1 aresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
" T- j0 t/ y# `screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 5 M! h6 B ?5 P
Alberta.

' y1 ~0 F5 O. {( ]Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
8 t% c2 h0 ~, g+ f6 J% y( h/ SFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
" T2 T9 n& x! K B0 f% R; Kwell as the script, magazine and book library. + ^$ `+ o+ e6 p
* X' o% z) t! m8 }# G$ a3 qDuties: $ E7 h L+ t8 j8 C0 o( F
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library & M& E9 X! l# N4 z1 |% H) z5 i% H
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
# R, F6 L3 x- t5 I7 ?- [- Implement a catalogue template for future use 6 O1 x6 \4 Z8 c) ?/ p; A0 E
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- K# a! X9 a( ?5 `( F+ [- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable + s; V1 P# r! c# \6 X2 \: e

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-" s* _* @6 w% J6 e) F
secondary training, university preferred 7 }! \( J4 b: P6 j, [, y
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 6 L, P" K- V& e- Z# ~1 l" l
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks 1 t/ ?$ }$ Y2 z' W" @, z

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
0 }3 j0 H1 C& M. q: R! ^- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
; e' X9 U% Z; C1 U0 L8 D- Strong organizational skills * ^% V6 P5 b1 J- S
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
- u# Q& m! A0 h2 K- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
+ C4 k+ ^" x9 |- y6 W/ T4 P& P# Q- Strong team player abilities / H( E9 S5 h: ~8 z
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors : C, K: A* t& _) }9 H- ]6 r- ?$ w8 ]
