FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
$ H3 `; U6 \% t# E# J2 U+ a I$ ^resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
- {& k' d5 O6 w' g Yscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern & N. o& c# {0 w$ J- t7 K: b# Q

t7 u( l8 i; w! j" ]1 f i; oJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
+ s3 z& a9 Z- d9 }FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
0 y% X9 R1 P. @( Q1 J# Kwell as the script, magazine and book library. 1 n; W! h2 A; O$ l4 V

Duties:
, T9 m# ]) `6 Y# O6 D- J+ `- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library % F. e+ z: H& |. ?$ v1 U
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 8 w6 d% Y0 A2 k1 z0 }6 ^
- Implement a catalogue template for future use : y1 O' k/ n7 P/ h: `# x# v
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
3 T. T a. l3 X+ D9 b* i- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-4 q$ p& k; j. G/ U3 v
secondary training, university preferred

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
7 R+ b8 `! \! j- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
0 z" [4 Z; K* X1 V/ Q, }( p3 F- Strong organizational skills 8 x5 m7 E8 Q2 B( ^! [
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred # a! M! t( o0 n- |. F2 D& C4 W
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal ! m. `$ h* O' k K5 l
- Strong team player abilities
