/ Y, |$ F& p% r1 R0 psummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

Alberta.

emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ; y6 I7 q3 ^: { g5 n. e
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
$ p! k3 ?' Y0 `/ L. presource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
* ?. \$ `% e$ R5 j. w1 y) nscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 4 A1 K1 B2 H4 Z' }7 C' D4 |
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as . j) c- D# W7 x0 ?0 J) f, r
well as the script, magazine and book library.

6 ?8 e; q4 Y/ r) F4 `: T {+ {& E- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library # B: {2 z, _% ]$ {. R: q
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
6 q6 G# R. M# _" M8 R- Implement a catalogue template for future use 2 L0 o7 w8 H" {& d& Q& k! N
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure ; e( x- b& f, h0 X0 G8 Y
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 8 c0 ~/ n4 m2 E9 D Z. q

secondary training, university preferred

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 2 c9 c( n" v7 S, A
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
: s6 ? e/ n2 A/ ]/ r( j- Strong organizational skills ( `! H9 K4 U* p: _, C; u
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
: N1 J; U( U% _! X$ g- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
