FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
/ F" g" ]& m/ x" w( v$ W% osummer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 1 U8 U% o* g. H8 v9 b
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 6 v: U5 P O- E6 z* R

( y/ P) P) I/ H% K) }* f9 SFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 9 s; u( q+ n+ ^, K y
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video : S# A7 i+ K: U; @% b) E% ^% m0 r2 W
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a * l/ c- {7 _, {* J
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 1 `7 a: b1 m" q; }2 @+ y2 K
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 9 \$ @% {! |# [# `' b, ?

FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 6 L8 c3 n: \8 l$ h
well as the script, magazine and book library.

- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 4 E, O! W3 V, a6 T
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
( k `% Z8 n$ Z" T- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure " |& E& e1 J; Q2 S, _/ q
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable & G2 p9 y% N7 \. j$ O2 u ?' \

secondary training, university preferred

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred ! s% {0 b+ u. t+ p
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal & b( h& I+ s [; I, h- Y

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors 4 V& O' M: f( q6 }$ j$ F
