S& V. |4 `+ S8 e. ~0 XFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization : T+ n& b; c- C" y b& H) c- ^
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

. A1 Y, H7 [$ r, eFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 5 L: s U, w- I* S6 C4 ^& u
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
. c g R# z" v* ~& dscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern - `: Y) A# u/ O2 Y
Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive & M" @9 a, d* T" O. W7 _( a' c/ E
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by 7 |) z5 `" ~, C* m
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. & q8 d; z- G; E' m1 U; i

Duties: 8 h$ n% P! F% e
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
+ s2 P4 T* X1 E+ x- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 8 K, I7 N" ^9 w! G/ N. G+ b. g
- Assist with equipment maintenance
, m* Q6 u9 I _6 v S" ]; P& k1 P- Assist with production logistics for programming events
, {% N0 C* d4 P) w& X) O9 ]% d- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff ; F+ H% d$ Q8 I$ j6 S0 d
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

# L \) L& R. C D8 r! c- `- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment ' `0 x* q' [+ c! ?0 \) _9 M. T
- Advance organizational and research skills 4 w8 G& `7 O& j$ g+ Z) _4 N
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD & H1 a' G0 F2 _, C
- Strong team player abilities
