FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a # b0 t; d- W; A) i
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive 6 J0 @ L3 P4 }& F
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
! Y0 @" N g. S$ o9 l! h/ I/ l8 Jassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. # L3 H; k; c1 u$ H& W( I# Q
6 g% h8 p4 z( G5 kDuties: 2 L1 C B# [; ]5 u9 w
- Assist with research on acquisition grants ' _% A6 q) j0 V! m! O
- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
$ [. K: `! r4 f) r) N& f; B- Assist with equipment maintenance & N& U- w I4 T- z2 ^- J/ g5 t
- Assist with production logistics for programming events
& I7 ~% k* w4 Z3 J7 G9 X- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff + v0 X" [4 e1 p! n$ H4 t; b
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable 8 }/ I5 Z% |0 k9 C
- Provide vacation relief 7 g. w: m" p" J3 F

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-8 p1 F7 n7 I" h. V: y
secondary training
% P( [5 u. L# x. a- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment
9 ~+ r- ?0 s, x! [! u9 J- Advance organizational and research skills ( j0 W5 [# i5 @ F: T
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
! R0 D1 ]! [0 }- Strong team player abilities % M: b+ Q* M9 ]! ]
- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors 7 s9 L1 o5 s+ I6 I% F! ]. C7 r
