Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description
) s( }% Z' ^& Y# e( G0 Z- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
& F$ X9 `8 @& u c7 v provide services for Chinese community
+ ?9 g, p$ r5 V/ V& L5 w- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
. i- r5 E- M+ Q4 ` access to mainstream services
) s6 S, i" i$ h2 @) Q9 i; b6 \- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of , P) @$ `- o" N
social services; U5 r( M4 { Z( ]/ B0 R
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
* R/ [" W( x1 X: X. h5 u- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members* V* O- f q" E$ S% I" d" ~% J! m
- update ASSIST website! Y. R4 ?* K, S1 j$ C' t
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre9 L5 W) S' a, n( ]
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services; ]% ?1 d% h6 w0 u" |
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time, t& w, ` N2 _$ N
- update membership database
& ?. }* S; @6 I8 p. ]/ G- e/ K& C- d- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
& L* r2 k9 U- C) Q- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
: d" S; e. y& @# t! S- w8 W. b. u experience and education
y3 H5 `: Q! a9 \! g! P1 S, @- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
C% f0 D6 |% A, z/ [- experience in community work and immigrant services, ~6 {( ~" {" c/ ^. V
- experience in website update/design
6 N e: K. h' E# B- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset |3 ? s0 ~3 L& r4 a
