Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
) b2 x" ` s; r; Q" v provide services for Chinese community
" J4 K v+ q% S& w+ }- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
" B" G, ^3 V$ \/ R5 n0 Q; Y access to mainstream services
- w+ y% L2 ?! R, l- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
" H# b# g/ Z0 a1 I1 {2 m/ d2 t* @ social services9 b3 ^) _2 W" f5 P' B
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies/ h& {8 t- H7 E p4 W) y2 g
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre. [1 X5 {9 }, H. I
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services- F* g" d2 e6 U' a) ~3 s2 h. h( Y9 ]
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time( |; z1 t8 ~2 K `( Y; c
- update membership database8 M1 n3 G1 x/ v y2 {1 y
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required), ?2 j/ x( ` Z* s# }, i& _

6 Q9 s% O* Q4 B# w5 m h1 ^- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of , ]5 ~# V. Q6 L
experience and education " W4 [: X8 c; q. F7 [
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
. Z$ Y% n5 m! V; |4 H- experience in community work and immigrant services
. g' k1 ^/ d9 b5 D- experience in website update/design
; d6 n' ^! W, |) l+ q" m% A- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
