Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
' ^! D+ u, c% _8 ?3 S# k$ P        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
* M4 [! J6 g+ C* N( k3 _        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
% h+ ], k# L' L6 N* i! Q        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
. V$ s7 A3 F; n; f/ M9 [3 l! u& E) g-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
0 c  C+ L, h4 ^( a! R* r-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
) N; j9 d- _* N4 l-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
! V4 t! L% e. }! P-        update membership database
) F& ]$ K* K' `  t-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
& P8 D! g9 Y* A0 }-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
6 N' p$ S1 n/ G) O" t3 I-        experience in community work and immigrant services
; B- V  G0 h4 b& N5 C-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
