Position title: Community Development Worker
! s' f# U7 i1 y) F" ?2 WTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
/ S# ^9 a  N1 E, V% Y) R: L        provide services for Chinese community
/ d7 g& g" r7 q/ `-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
6 z( R; |. Q6 b+ P7 F        access to mainstream services
4 e" d* a/ }: ]6 z. `$ _5 y-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
0 o& G2 O) d, e- w: o' n-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
) X8 J8 Y( P8 D# L) A: z+ b- i; l-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
, ]" J( U% u9 h$ C-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
  G4 \* S) L# h# r) G; u, \-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
# u, Z+ {4 E2 I1 x-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

" Y- M- R" ~9 x3 w& yQualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
/ @% S& A( t% P2 R) u-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
