Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
1 r1 ]* K/ X6 S4 E$ J/ E-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
7 u# r9 H; g# ^) q+ {) t6 A. [        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
1 J- _0 D7 b3 T& A-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
  C; Z" I4 k5 q) u# R. v-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
3 X2 e% W7 S3 A( ^9 S-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
7 u7 V) I1 T" q/ E7 P$ f/ C8 p-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

* d' [* E/ ^- B$ i; E/ h1 ?Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
2 ^: J' J/ X) W% _. u2 h. p-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
6 l% t, B9 _2 b-        experience in community work and immigrant services
/ _/ N5 p% J9 O4 ?5 c5 G-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
