Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description
4 y9 M' S5 a2 Z. C) o- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to 1 P0 K& W, t/ m$ G1 B# n
provide services for Chinese community
3 b: a' E$ T; r" \- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
$ K, |- H" O7 M9 _ access to mainstream services- T5 R7 N& R2 ~6 E! O; W5 e, `8 O- h
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of ( R4 m, f! P) H9 `9 C% V, S
social services8 Z. z W& M% t# B6 I2 I: v" ?
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies( S5 [( @: P- |. \' H% S0 B
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members' T, B- {# G( ~# }4 I5 I2 `
- update ASSIST website
( b1 Z$ [3 ]# G/ a- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre0 I9 u* K- l8 t9 A$ e, m& U
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services" H/ I1 j6 x- ~7 ^
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time; n6 ~- l/ o+ @2 i7 b
- update membership database
; k2 U0 ~9 m" D# V- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
4 k/ P; S' L+ j7 Z4 m- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
: }6 q* }9 B! l# Y: E5 R" k experience and education
: x! n; Z1 \( S- E; q, Q* Y- good oral and written Chinese and English skills/ f7 \7 {* x5 Y, W* {
- experience in community work and immigrant services
- a: B$ _. n/ i V- G6 @- experience in website update/design+ t/ Z5 x4 p$ Z7 `4 ^2 F9 g- c
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
