Position title: Community Development Worker ' C+ `' w7 n+ j/ G. _. M
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

& \' E( o8 L. C! }$ e. ^ provide services for Chinese community7 c7 L) v! j: l0 z1 P
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
/ S) Q! Y( Q$ I4 ? access to mainstream services' N; k w8 x! o2 l; L
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of 2 r& x/ c, ~ M, i
social services
G7 q, |7 U# n1 d" O# _/ {- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies, _5 n; Y* h8 |
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members, W. @% i% q+ y% K, U
- update ASSIST website
% }1 C* x! [" _7 c" a- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
% r {* G7 ^% W: g- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
" _& Y: z% F+ l# @ e$ m1 v# R. t' N- }- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

4 W7 A9 A$ R& S2 M7 N$ _4 T- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications& y& o3 s; h: @+ L% a
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
8 B! _( E& _$ P# C3 S) | experience and education
( A5 y* `7 l8 E+ B$ |& I/ T$ _9 X- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
; v' R; u% m; t7 Y" v8 X/ t/ f0 f- experience in community work and immigrant services
$ h& M5 P6 W" d- experience in website update/design, ^ {' P* c( Q; _# P7 f
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset' l* |( R$ P# z$ F+ v4 v$ j
