Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description; f5 D1 v/ T- H6 F' V% \
- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to 8 _9 Z0 X+ Y2 Z1 X4 \9 D
provide services for Chinese community
0 d- J1 U5 h# A$ l' h- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
* |& Z' K: h5 {8 L k( G9 q access to mainstream services
% c7 p4 T, e3 b+ x* Y- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
, H# P* f" ` {4 |8 ~- B social services
( e; _ |' o# o- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies- g9 c$ D5 f8 q6 m" L0 u* ?5 }/ W; D
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members7 a+ z' h0 _5 v6 I- H" s
- update ASSIST website( o l% U' x+ E2 n. y- O
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre/ ?! J& @; M* D. {0 ?1 {
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services/ o, q9 K$ d6 X' j! Z }
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time. X" n f$ W- i* I) _9 n
- update membership database
8 K4 V% q! G; P, Y& W6 c6 r- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications3 w3 C" O5 ?: b' O) `1 y$ h
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
# |/ t0 w$ e' x* u: C! | experience and education
! U' q/ w* V3 r/ j( m- t- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
( F2 _9 g& [7 X- experience in community work and immigrant services2 e% n& E ?) F! p4 b
- experience in website update/design6 t- i( h! ~/ C; W
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset! }2 O/ J" o1 G3 Z1 t$ G
