Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description& ^: ^4 ^ C1 m* y* }/ U
- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to 1 F$ S _2 \ Q4 D% u
provide services for Chinese community5 O0 @6 u9 f. Y4 q; W
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population ( E8 r4 A* d- d# r0 G
access to mainstream services/ q1 v- q# V3 o1 M
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of 0 I* H2 t% W% {4 C: J, U
social services! ]. R; P, ]. Z {* A, t6 T
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies8 m' w/ W7 v5 C x$ R$ n ]5 F) J
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
" Z# a) l. ^: V3 c9 y! ^- update ASSIST website8 F# F% X3 P: B
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre/ r2 _$ J3 Y8 u \ o$ i, J5 Q& z6 N
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services% ^/ M6 W4 T- M5 k/ ?
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of , y3 h( _6 ]% Z, l: `. L
experience and education - p3 f! A4 t; B" m
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
' U4 U3 @1 H* q& _ j/ A* R9 V- experience in community work and immigrant services: \, e. U: Q& N g+ V+ ?0 g. @
- experience in website update/design% R3 d+ P5 \8 C+ |( C
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
