Position title: Community Development Worker

4 I' M- c9 S3 R- z6 B-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
3 B, c- X0 v# P7 o        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
* }( e4 q* }3 q, E$ z2 ?/ {. G        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
8 B3 [' e6 S' s* I  Q        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
" f, b7 m  Y* \0 D. \6 d9 g-        update ASSIST website
$ B6 |6 N, {& h$ {-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
) p- u) B" C( @' ]4 W. j-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of

-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
1 f" i8 U& i2 h1 E8 T( b- |-        experience in community work and immigrant services
/ T: p, Q. u% d-        experience in website update/design
# g! |' @" J+ V0 g5 d/ O-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
