Position title: Community Development Worker
& H* t: ]+ G& c6 Z! H+ ~6 lTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

- p* W! _  o' t% _-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
5 z- E, }: J  |; g  n$ ?1 x3 B        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
2 G( n5 ?( T; a        access to mainstream services
/ B/ Q- |3 V3 Y* Q" i- D& w6 V-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
. |$ O( x5 D- u9 w" q& H, k-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
9 k6 j( h) F" {6 b: l2 W8 c! s-        update ASSIST website
, X6 g* K: _* C) P( M0 U2 r( C-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
7 H& j5 g7 H: o9 k" M-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

# e- G, z% b  F: Q* g-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
6 {7 G/ S3 G! V4 W-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
% o+ g. m! T  w" W8 X-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
