Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description
p1 @, h! [: C( t* Q/ Y% f- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to " e' r2 U$ A' J/ u
provide services for Chinese community/ `! }- k% M( c# H8 j( Y
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
# l% H. Y1 }" [6 W- { access to mainstream services
( k! y; ?- h& g) s5 L* Z7 H$ `- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of 3 k H3 r4 o: h
social services
7 C) W, N! _1 q! P9 `2 i- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies5 \% W4 \9 N/ Z* Y, |
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members) Q$ D6 K5 K5 h% S. N s
- update ASSIST website) s0 y2 X$ P' n! G: ]
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre s1 Q' I3 y. F& S* T+ l
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services5 W- D _, I$ ], W" }& \9 }% m
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time! ]" x/ ~" R7 I& p
- update membership database8 T) z: ?6 j& R% K- N
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications& ~3 F4 \: q: e! S
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
6 u3 [4 w+ U I( s g* C4 a3 t experience and education ( C& J, _$ o5 ^$ o/ `- |9 p0 T
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
# L' V5 O5 p0 H/ q. a# f- experience in community work and immigrant services0 X0 Q8 e# l! N9 _% U$ ?
- experience in website update/design
5 Z( x7 L+ s8 |' S* I4 v) D- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
