Position title: Community Development Worker
; |, h" f# {8 k& eTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
2 q% n7 K2 v2 g6 c-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
0 z, z" k( K& |( \        access to mainstream services
2 }) y8 s+ J, t2 f" w" K-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
' i! l$ B$ |3 u        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
, q" P1 u! T, t3 U-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
& p  Z" Q$ G/ F$ s-        update ASSIST website
' a/ l* l& J$ s( D-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
3 [1 s2 k* Q; B. e: A. H-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
" m" m$ K+ B% h  a! s2 n% W-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
+ J( W7 r7 K' u. h! I, {- D% \-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
6 f! f3 @+ ^7 ^, V; B* H        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
& ?' i' u4 [/ u# Y-        experience in website update/design
  _- @- s) B/ Y, o-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
