Position title: Community Development Worker

-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
' ~0 Y# x4 g8 p; V+ w-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
  y1 x8 {. U) p3 Y! o$ ~        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
: Q! b$ Y& u: F; [5 _        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
% A' Z* v/ p4 l) W. w# ~-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
& d1 `: ~9 n4 j2 L-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
! l6 A& }3 M  y) {; h-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
8 G+ v7 C$ Q6 V2 O. k. o: _-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
( e4 U  x& ~* b3 I" C-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
' ?6 Q% ?* k. J4 q- a8 W% k-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
