Position title: Community Development Worker

/ L' d6 m; U8 M, j& N7 \- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to # p' B* Z4 n \/ F% [5 e6 L
provide services for Chinese community5 t% X; t' o& Q5 Q
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population : R) F: l3 A0 I' o0 s; c v
access to mainstream services( a! A0 k( ^' _' D
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of % C9 S( J4 Y+ |/ ]' d6 E* r
social services ^8 t+ J" ]9 w6 L2 A9 B
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
p) p, f: G3 G% L7 C y5 F$ T- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members( v5 ~2 M/ n+ v" @- P
- update ASSIST website
b2 O) w4 r4 H x( U- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre9 q* T- ^0 n( }' `) g4 y
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services( p% w2 D; Q4 P: D
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)& b" m3 w! F3 y2 k; p) `- N

; s" E0 e/ U R, t% d- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
$ `! s' v) `) S7 n& w; |2 V, y experience and education 1 V7 z6 G8 |$ p+ P3 p$ ^
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
" h: F. w! M% N3 u- }* h% b7 W3 h- experience in community work and immigrant services4 w! d/ o$ b5 \# u& r y
- experience in website update/design
4 {9 ~" V( m! d3 c- N `& A- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
