Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
+ ~5 a' R. b$ |! g d# Y% D$ a& I4 _ provide services for Chinese community
7 b8 w- o F) C! z0 w) y7 V- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population ) `4 s2 @, ?2 A# t( |( A" o* [2 c
access to mainstream services# D8 C* v2 V8 p F3 `$ l x
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
. p+ X" Z% J, K+ C' l! U4 p social services* o/ s) [& P9 a8 ^! M
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies2 h9 t' m1 Z7 X
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members' i4 q$ q8 c6 i
- update ASSIST website
. F3 j3 V/ b( ]+ }5 b3 d6 s- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre5 u j; {' x' @4 r( ?$ _6 V
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services# e: T) Y/ T/ V4 v% q0 M* V
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time! r4 A( ^1 I8 b
- update membership database
6 r2 | E$ \5 b$ m7 @- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

# a8 L7 t# C/ `/ Y/ o0 x- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of

2 l) ]% v, {4 ?9 ^: z- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
. t; a* d$ u7 w" }- experience in community work and immigrant services
. b5 |" U+ v9 S- experience in website update/design
& { _* ^8 U3 t9 {. y- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset- C! ^& M) c. @7 ^# }0 d
