Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description
; `& A. z j0 v! t: b- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
/ c7 h) A* G! _, O! b/ C+ l% b1 ` provide services for Chinese community& T2 W8 ~7 F4 G& b' w$ P2 Y2 @0 j) P
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population 8 L: i( [% G8 h/ o0 E& d, O
access to mainstream services O/ r" y$ t; I0 B* K
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
( }- } {% Y* x# ` social services! b. a" F6 _1 X
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
# z }* T% I( C4 F- U: T& R- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members, u+ q6 \8 _* v1 c& c
- update ASSIST website
9 Z6 i5 @) b# L" z- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre8 M/ `* b) p) X U0 T+ X! B4 B
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
3 g9 X5 c: }9 F2 a6 Y- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time& S% A1 \7 Y. Z
- update membership database2 S6 J! p4 i' N! ]' c, k. V
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
3 p0 X- r* R, N9 O+ v- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
, F% R' C& N; q9 }6 G9 Z0 E' e experience and education 8 A& @8 o' {+ R [' _6 {
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
* A: u2 A, V9 t4 w9 e- experience in community work and immigrant services2 Z& T L+ z( g; l' l5 I' r
- experience in website update/design
. V- h5 W2 q3 {9 o- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset1 i+ J7 B' a0 D4 Y
