Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
2 Y' G0 }" K" x7 l, p-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
  O( [$ y. O  I" n+ {-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
) D  z/ I; G1 y" H        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
6 A! n. Q$ `" J* T-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
* @( f: O7 U0 o& U6 q$ `-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
! Q8 V2 z2 M* m0 y-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
* h! P! @/ a' M1 L( Y# ]) D! p-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
# E$ W1 J9 X5 I5 I' L" L
: j3 s! e+ l+ AQualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
# D& X6 Y! C9 a) R6 Q        experience and education
! X! z7 U- m4 x" ^( `-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
4 e* B+ ]5 N7 ]. w-        experience in community work and immigrant services
3 i2 F3 T9 O8 E8 {4 m5 M& x-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
