Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
0 S5 G5 j; f; b; T! @-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
+ n4 S( D2 }7 @( n-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
! \* M( v% i$ n2 l$ z$ R$ r3 {        access to mainstream services
0 @0 J; Q& H( |# P-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
3 Y6 ?6 T) `3 K8 ~1 y1 C8 _        social services
4 W, W* t; h( @7 |$ e3 o-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
2 J& S+ N. w# N2 Y  j-        update ASSIST website
; N3 M  Y9 G; i( t7 w-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
; i/ O8 y+ ^. U4 i6 w% D$ V6 T, q  E. v-        experience in community work and immigrant services
, P( _9 L5 R* h& u# n! v" o: j-        experience in website update/design
! {3 f2 w0 j9 I-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
