Position title: Community Development Worker

/ K. H& L8 C j$ J" f& k& p provide services for Chinese community
8 H& d2 b& g" ?4 _- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
& w; G% _/ E1 ?$ V! t7 W access to mainstream services% e- W, \' N) g. y( R& Z' P
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
) [! D3 r) J# f6 j- ^2 _! \ social services
; z' ~/ k4 |# K+ d- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies* T; ^$ D$ a/ D9 f1 R2 O
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members3 t$ i r+ I5 {4 K& | e
- update ASSIST website# P$ Y! s; C6 g' B3 j
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre0 G+ f* L5 O; m7 X4 u
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services) R# s; |2 H/ c5 }. D/ D( v
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time: @; i q, w e0 F O5 {
- update membership database( H Z$ ]& v0 ? P4 }. _. E! O
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

5 q, M' x" j& c0 i# ]- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
- B" d9 ~. l, F+ L experience and education
8 V! B; V) Z: c. c e- good oral and written Chinese and English skills* C' z& N! ]5 Y9 r0 O4 {1 z! q$ i
- experience in community work and immigrant services" n$ M0 B, V( ~/ y4 h% a
- experience in website update/design
! g# \' H( ?* b# x- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset+ X* q1 m- v8 J$ q
