Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description
( j6 c+ L9 U4 [2 o; z ]- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
* x f$ L, h/ p/ C: ]4 U6 A' [ provide services for Chinese community
6 @ a. G0 U8 }0 c$ d! b e- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population ( S; ~# L& F2 U; ^: f
access to mainstream services2 R) W: R$ \# x9 m7 i! `: ^ C
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
) H% T& u* n5 D+ p6 t# Z social services' _& X0 I$ D0 |: C0 \
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies. R- h6 g2 ~; i3 M0 G5 j5 O
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
- O% ?8 p/ ^$ z' a k; A: K) A- update ASSIST website
' K- b) s/ i) X8 J- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre- I( B2 V6 A2 u
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services; k+ ~6 R6 B! q- q
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time, f8 R+ _. U: b7 _, b2 M2 D
- update membership database) g% u; s+ F+ i; D" m
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)! W5 i( X. B+ I3 i" D

) G; q* |* G4 ~- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of - } x* O+ D3 I0 f" B$ s
experience and education
}7 r# V9 t! j2 ?5 S- X* _4 Y% U- good oral and written Chinese and English skills: a, O) L- W; m. J
- experience in community work and immigrant services
: ~3 z9 k: e7 l- [5 }5 h" K# C- experience in website update/design
4 p8 N7 X+ B+ _$ f( `* ^- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset' k2 j& c% f5 M% f) U8 a
