Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
0 M% j" ^ Q; U( Q( [" a6 _9 ~ ]2 c provide services for Chinese community
) e3 Z) p$ Q) m6 s4 y6 E7 B- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population 9 h+ v: J2 D6 K" M& E# m: m
access to mainstream services; I9 K7 o, ?# s% ]! _- V1 E0 I, k3 {
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of * a# F" J/ N6 I% u
social services8 ~( R8 V; s& h6 z9 u1 N
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
6 _$ p1 I4 C0 a6 @- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members& c }0 s& w! M, g
- update ASSIST website& b# e( w, K2 B( n1 _
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre# r. {7 _6 D$ W q# ~2 {
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services* @! i- Y' c: n2 G2 Z$ C2 \4 b) B
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications& @8 [# [7 Z0 d& E5 g$ t |
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of % S6 q, h5 R1 n- i
experience and education $ U+ ]6 X- [4 D$ e3 c
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills( U0 }, \1 [/ k" H# I h
- experience in community work and immigrant services' C# {4 _; U) \& \" W+ E+ V# a
- experience in website update/design4 E2 w: M: p! M% E# }' W: L
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
