Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to

- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population ( i ^9 O. @# e, U7 s3 M
access to mainstream services
9 X. J- T% C8 g5 T- Q: c* H9 J- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
% _7 O, ?$ e, p7 k# A1 l. m social services
, T9 t6 n, |- k) Z6 d( P1 N- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies% L: m2 `, m! q9 C' x, `' G
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members* b- ?# Y6 G+ L0 f- y( \" y
- update ASSIST website
+ |" \/ n" H2 l E- l9 Y- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
; T( O: a" N2 y" ?% z( x' M3 E& u- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services6 ^/ {7 K7 P J, m" ~' X
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time/ E( P) @5 Y% v
- update membership database

Qualifications% J# c; E1 h: i) V6 O
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of 4 F3 w: W0 P. {
experience and education + b) \; A% K5 g I2 \' }( A
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
# d. v* T% L, K" ?1 b& w$ v- experience in community work and immigrant services e! l) w8 D1 G
- experience in website update/design
! Y1 P1 Z4 v: a( a) m8 _- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
