Position title: Community Development Worker
0 d2 {* ^' i  D" TTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
4 U8 S2 s" p  s# E4 \1 n) g& t* S        provide services for Chinese community
1 v( t; n) y! }; I" n: z/ a-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
0 E9 l( b" X, r3 y; U+ b) u% B        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
# @; {2 {1 N6 A( y2 v' ~-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
- k) U5 v, @# h-        update ASSIST website
: t/ B$ Y( n3 a% b  I. W-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
, Q- k. \  [+ t/ e/ P-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
, [/ R6 z" m3 U: f-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
0 F0 {" x( k" _" {-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
5 I9 }! N. x2 o5 Z9 y6 ^3 i-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
