Position title: Community Development Worker
$ q/ E& v( Y  s7 RTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members

; w- r- P: d" X  W$ n" Q-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
) D0 R( B' c5 `-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

4 Y) J( k1 v( _( f7 y1 dQualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
  _# U) m% p8 `/ l-        experience in website update/design
% t, V; i; `8 V8 S6 D- T. ?* h-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
