Position title: Community Development Worker
) T8 Y) e: _$ W- d: ~- E/ S: P1 [Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
4 a, p0 H$ P* W" A5 |- J provide services for Chinese community# `/ y- ^2 q$ D) c1 N3 \9 X
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population k1 ]6 }- h0 I- B
access to mainstream services1 l; B3 O9 p8 q. t& D5 x+ E# {
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
9 B) S# g. N7 \, R$ G/ e social services
, {5 c6 i2 L2 r$ D2 H: ]- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies! L, q. a2 a0 s: V1 b9 v
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre; _- U5 s4 z A9 r
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services# W& X. v/ b/ j4 \: b0 a+ g
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time" G9 s E, x! h! |; A
- update membership database
/ [$ L( }$ o q0 Z+ U- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications% m, h7 H- z4 K" n
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
9 R# ~9 O, w0 x5 Q experience and education 7 C, ?! X8 o- v y& W9 O1 K F. T
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills% q5 u4 A; r3 ~; G5 D, d
- experience in community work and immigrant services0 k5 z! g) }5 L( H2 _
- experience in website update/design/ m. X$ M2 ^# G% i
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset M2 n+ r9 G( I, s, @# V
