Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
# h9 W! u& i- l+ {-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
& w& `8 ]6 i( c  y        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
: y! [0 S" C/ T+ v! B        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
; e- L7 _! f3 {7 n) u0 x2 W. _-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
4 N1 }% V7 R+ O- y-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
$ @; C3 k4 E6 _' j  U% a: Z-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
' y( t' V1 P" W  K: l-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
; |& n( G5 k& p% ]$ V( f-        experience in website update/design
4 r% k! f) b( P% p) B7 z2 U" Q. Y/ }-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
