Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
8 H( x3 V( o% D& c* f  {-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
( m$ U, C4 b; [! e- \; M" y-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
; y  N: y9 N" v/ N-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
  j) o3 G8 B( g& x4 U( G7 D( m! K% k-        update ASSIST website
! `& X  t* S( I0 [; c: K6 o-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
9 X9 _2 A7 l" i  S( K$ A; [-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
# y6 j2 L( a+ P3 `0 ^-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
2 z+ M+ v$ O; ?" u-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
8 ]% N. \4 {$ e* w: g9 ?        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
$ L0 f+ z' Z% M  z  q7 w-        experience in website update/design
& z) ~, Y! G9 r7 U' [) T7 B0 Y$ z: V. L-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
