Position title: Community Development Worker
- g6 L* C( o  N1 Q* Z0 \Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
3 i8 G" n5 _* u2 a: n; x2 V/ ^-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
- H- b* `( ~; M-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
) S" K8 S% J# I1 G-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
5 H# H8 P* [& a1 q-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
+ v& g$ ~/ T: e! k-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
1 x0 U* U/ F7 ]5 E. |1 s5 Z2 F-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
+ T" R, {# {# [; i-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
2 k) a% _2 v5 W% w% x9 A        experience and education
* _. J1 F# I/ y# _$ |+ f-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
' E/ U9 @1 Y$ [. ]  s-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
