Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
5 d/ _6 C6 n/ g, T        provide services for Chinese community
1 p: A& N# B, [- C) ^, M-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
; C* m  K$ ~5 w# h- `0 ^0 v        access to mainstream services
( U- s4 s" [( }, l# @% C# ~-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
, \' u, W2 s. o        social services
# o) _1 b, k. l6 K' E9 _. m-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
+ ^( T; a3 G& ^-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
6 Z3 f/ ~) \/ o-        experience in website update/design
  c# m( @5 m2 M7 K7 z-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
