Position title: Community Development Worker

& d- e  K: h6 s2 U; h-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
" f3 [% E+ M$ D* n& F        provide services for Chinese community
1 Z2 g" ~: _. a" O7 Z8 L-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
" x: R  ^5 Z6 B6 ]" E1 k: e# A        social services
# [: g/ p1 U' S, X2 z6 y- n-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
: n  s9 i1 n3 a' P+ r" p2 j-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
/ f1 a5 m; p& Y-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

" N" p1 \5 V) ?7 Q* [Qualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
& |/ R: r; x; ~: ]        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
, d! W6 U: F& ^-        experience in community work and immigrant services
0 f9 t: s* `* X& j-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
