Position title: Community Development Worker
; J3 r; {' I1 [# q; cTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
) e; i# d; H$ @$ K% \-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
1 n0 S4 M% C3 j  K4 Z% O-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
4 r6 r0 a- L5 G  f        social services
0 }; m+ n* R4 Y7 k( Y0 ]) c6 h-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
% d! I# a2 P* C/ w-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

6 j& F. |* u! X- I5 pQualifications
% E" n: u! t, C6 T- n/ J$ ]- k-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
0 j) j! V0 T: |2 ]-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
+ B/ d; r7 F/ I( K- A-        experience in website update/design
. |2 R8 }8 U7 j( Z- V* R) p-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
