Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
- ~. V- G. o! S" A$ Q5 P        provide services for Chinese community
4 k" e& G% D' P. E+ u: O" w' C-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
3 `% T' e: f6 a        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
/ V$ C0 p. g+ R1 P/ Q-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
( K% |4 b$ s5 d' }8 w( W: U-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
, @+ ^. n7 s, f' R6 q  i) Y-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
: N$ `/ f- P! s/ W" y9 |) a6 R. z-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
! S  T( z" F$ v3 v: h4 C$ ]-        update membership database
8 A/ @6 }- L4 t" p$ `* j7 E-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

! X& h& S! s, n0 W( J4 z+ eQualifications
-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
# p/ G3 o6 F; [  o$ t4 w        experience and education
3 w6 @% ~) M% R; C" O6 O6 c: ?-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
$ u7 K2 }% B$ e& I9 t2 D-        experience in community work and immigrant services
, d4 O( G( q7 v$ ^-        experience in website update/design
. \& U6 H: s' ^/ p9 {-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
