Job Description
8 `3 z) k- v$ ?- I; B1 T0 R/ a$ B1 G- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to , _# o7 {2 A2 S8 D: E( b4 ~) E% ^
provide services for Chinese community
9 {7 S# a9 A4 w- i5 g- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
" X& v8 v" x1 A+ O- v access to mainstream services
/ o2 ~. M% e6 x# H* G% O7 j- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
3 I1 w* c$ m% V8 _ ^ social services/ O+ I/ H: b( l) k* O
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
# ?4 u: R* S' Z; f- M$ [1 ~& j- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
+ j* ~6 F) x; F, x1 M- update ASSIST website
3 C% j8 k2 p" F6 b; X" }- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre- Q' V5 I$ i0 |; k# b" `
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
: _' d K5 m( C8 Y- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time( H' O4 N. F; `. J, G, z
- update membership database' v) g4 \! m) n: L
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)1 X8 K: Y/ ]0 B M
5 `" J$ I( D7 w1 U: tQualifications$ d' |7 t* K) d% P5 L
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
) r; s! V4 l# S3 V7 N experience and education
# ^9 N( a' y2 K0 U- good oral and written Chinese and English skills3 D2 f# p; ]& a5 E# j4 w
- experience in community work and immigrant services
) p) X* O9 m- p* a) @% T( N5 C- experience in website update/design
9 H0 j5 h ?7 p! F# y1 b7 `5 Y- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
