Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
) U- X! q; O6 x$ A        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
  T6 h, H2 w& l) t6 C7 B6 B- g$ Y        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
# s: B3 O! t' A-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
! c* `1 l# I: @& ]) p" E$ d- @7 W0 F-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
( J3 V# ?, r& N-        update ASSIST website
" Z1 c- x' R' L1 h" N& N-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
" G, a  U+ e0 |/ X-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
& U2 \; Q( F! X- N-        update membership database
, A1 O& }9 N' {) w-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

* J& ?3 P1 a% h& K/ n( g/ k1 n& a3 o& JQualifications
: x% `" _9 U0 _% w( y-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
5 r/ c3 g% Q: g, T-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
* u9 [6 E, o! L! C- [-        experience in website update/design
6 E/ Z$ z; i# Q-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
