Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
$ J0 p5 |" M0 b/ @+ P" B7 K        provide services for Chinese community
8 e$ O0 A- H8 Q. }1 q-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
$ T0 ^1 K& ~( ~-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
" O% x, D4 ]. S$ O        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
/ D- ~, i% @9 y" _; D-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
3 I; h) a7 A( R-        update ASSIST website
-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

7 l( F4 r5 Q: R1 e/ @$ [9 b9 W  V# ]-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
* R8 j9 g, ~" P        experience and education
5 r/ Y! x; x( R. j9 B. O5 f-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
