Position title: Community Development Worker
. g9 d# r# R# HTerm: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to 8 }* C6 m, `3 |4 K/ d
provide services for Chinese community g3 w/ j) f3 z
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population 3 H, n" M) E# b- x& `5 l
access to mainstream services
: g) O6 }: j+ n1 W) l1 I% b. d- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of 3 X7 B# g8 i, v, U9 a' Z
social services
) ~2 W: V7 a! g' H" W# z m- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
! F$ K* t9 h/ S& _' I7 u$ j9 k- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members

: m3 W3 {2 n; d" ?6 h9 y- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications2 G$ x' |4 F( d
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
% i9 U* N, Q2 }. z$ ~& H1 H experience and education 8 b7 D( T8 F4 }
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
+ _) A& b! A6 \" ^3 ]8 Z% s- experience in community work and immigrant services
- } w; X/ c2 Y2 C: I7 C! ~# j3 W- experience in website update/design6 y& K( w% X# Z& ~
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset4 {" D2 g( h3 q( ]% t" m4 t
