Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
! ]2 }6 @, |( D% K" D% z-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
; y# J# f  B2 [/ ^, I! O7 c: d        access to mainstream services
! s9 W9 N6 m2 ]9 o( E' A-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
1 ^, `0 Y, p7 G; f7 L-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
) }; T, o* V6 m" C-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
2 |4 F, S# m( b& B+ ~8 m+ t-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
3 {0 s; y! r! m( ~' d" _: D        experience and education
-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
4 p5 F+ T/ [) r3 J, m-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
