Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)
Job Description
1 |, j+ K# e" G-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
- c/ J/ r4 X: n9 t' c" W+ V-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
' S9 G( n3 j) ^) p# O        access to mainstream services
3 R: ~: _: b" q-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
; V# u/ u8 _2 k& W' O7 U        social services
-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
% A; L5 @" ^* R5 x8 Q. e# c9 L-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
' N# U" k* J, [% G3 \, m& e4 F4 f-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

) N; I9 |3 Q/ |, a-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of

  [/ K( b# I! S  T* `, |% v  K& P; ~: G-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
/ x+ \! x1 a. u0 v; e" S-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
