Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

6 \4 K4 R" G( Q9 `6 k-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
( l8 V! n- ?* H9 }( T& G3 X        provide services for Chinese community
+ w9 z4 q/ N5 c-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
        access to mainstream services
) h( J# ]( z( Q( e4 Z% {-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
3 A& e. T; N. |1 o9 R7 v; Z        social services
+ U# A2 z# G- M( e-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
$ I5 B4 t% E& _-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
-        update ASSIST website
. K9 k) I0 C6 H-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
/ j! }! k( J8 C1 @-        update membership database
- K* j& Z) Z% }- E. P-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications
  R: ]) r% t  N3 G6 m$ X/ |-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
8 ]6 b. Y2 |2 X9 ?6 j-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
* V6 A6 o6 H- H* \* d8 r/ y-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
