Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

; \% z6 f" m7 F% D' U-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
2 i7 u/ [4 S- [8 ?% q! b' [        access to mainstream services
; E1 P1 D! B+ L  F" R" g: D9 L: P-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
6 z. k: J2 J' |, A) k/ i. c7 {        social services
: U- K, L" |( g& K; i5 d+ s-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
: T# c4 N" p6 Y% [0 L* H- u% e-        update ASSIST website
; R+ J" [/ l* ^* ]6 M-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
  @/ ^& D/ `4 o5 A- Y) K-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
8 q# A' z- `' T, x        experience and education
3 D/ B$ a# i. ~( c! u-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
