Position title: Community Development Worker 1 S% E$ l/ R+ f; I: z k! Z
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to ; W# X% q+ [ V+ Q# r. V6 X6 a8 O
provide services for Chinese community
# h9 W! u& i- l+ {- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
& w& `8 ]6 i( c y access to mainstream services/ S8 R$ v: k) d- S
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
: y! [0 S" C/ T+ v! B social services6 H# a: n7 P2 d
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
; e- L7 _! f3 {7 n) u0 x2 W. _- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members& f* s6 \$ U0 M; m( p
- update ASSIST website
4 N1 }% V7 R+ O- y- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
$ @; C3 k4 E6 _' j U% a: Z- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

Qualifications2 ]/ A' D2 Z1 E9 I! ?8 x
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of ! O$ b/ \( y. G3 N9 ?4 h
experience and education # h* O) k- y4 S* x5 c
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills/ s) X8 I. z1 ? q) l! S1 n
- experience in community work and immigrant services
; |& n( G5 k& p% ]$ V( f- experience in website update/design
4 r% k! f) b( P% p) B7 z2 U" Q. Y/ }- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset8 j% }" _+ U( I, u1 g4 `/ Q
