Position title: Community Development Worker
Term: 1-year Contract for Maternity Leave (Full time: 35 hours per week)

-        community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
  Z4 e) r4 p4 q. ]        provide services for Chinese community
-        workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
( c- o4 @0 D3 s% A( V        access to mainstream services
-        fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
) [0 }" ~: Y4 t( d5 V6 j- v9 `        social services
+ g! p' r  D. z  V! x& K-        develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
-        coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
6 A$ p" }& a* f: c+ w( p% X-        update ASSIST website
; v% F6 x: a) b2 s' G  i3 m-        demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
-        participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
3 A  q$ N2 G# E! M% X9 `-        assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time
-        update membership database
7 {# b6 [' i9 h$ T* U-        work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

. e8 \- s  G: L9 B+ Y- lQualifications
2 u! f% H/ j' W& @3 \-        degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
        experience and education
  n% ~. Q# k7 {$ w0 W9 W7 k9 L# b-        good oral and written Chinese and English skills
% W9 j. N8 z, S. d+ S1 S-        experience in community work and immigrant services
-        experience in website update/design
/ e5 X6 L& p. X3 K/ M; S% g) ^& p-        Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
