Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description
7 o$ e7 |* i- L1 T- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to # p! _1 Q. h- J
provide services for Chinese community4 e9 |8 ~6 D! v9 D+ r+ q6 v( r
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population $ i2 Z" f: l1 b3 k
access to mainstream services2 [6 \+ K" Z) Z' }6 u! M
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of - I1 J0 Y$ ^2 X5 @& _7 @$ y0 T
social services$ c4 a; |$ J; V/ U
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
8 M2 J" _( a8 {2 C+ D7 `4 I9 S1 J- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members2 z7 {& M, @ v) R4 E' Q9 b
- update ASSIST website8 _# I" x4 Z0 c
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre% S$ I; f9 X& x7 B, e
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services

- update membership database

Qualifications
; q% k- B0 R& U* J- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of ) N) o. J' [( A! ~
experience and education
7 L4 Q! s6 |# Z$ J9 J; Z9 }) N Y- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
" |& b2 e0 L& x4 ^ V1 l8 o0 m- experience in community work and immigrant services( [" w' M7 f: |# V
- experience in website update/design
1 N! B7 Q% J- c! I. X! G& W7 p; L- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
