Position title: Community Development Worker

provide services for Chinese community
& U! I# K- H" _4 w8 g+ D4 X) D- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
+ V+ J& |4 ~* g' R- S access to mainstream services% T: e8 D! P6 t/ @' d( {
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
. B3 j: B. F, m) ], ~ social services. Q# Q0 G" O Z- A p
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
$ G, s# O4 t- m4 @6 m( _- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
/ G' n4 E S8 u- update ASSIST website c- u. L% V: ?: a
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
, ]! Q/ N k4 y0 t: f' A, o- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
- {& {5 E( X# g- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications
$ ?; d' q/ e. c- v* z- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
+ v! J2 b+ |; \9 W/ R5 O U experience and education
% G: M! U$ W. S$ f: @- good oral and written Chinese and English skills3 m5 o2 n5 c" ?+ w0 k) v
- experience in community work and immigrant services5 J) @6 j5 b5 G- V/ X1 C
- experience in website update/design" n3 J. N+ o: a6 ^
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset+ o9 \4 a6 z5 [4 e, a
