Duties

0 Y6 g' R0 k, ], V3 Z7 G d( ^ * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications, V9 {: [: c# _" ^
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis" B. b8 D; _: w9 u
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance1 T& s4 S0 C# I. z8 D' s* h
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
9 p, ?7 L1 q6 j6 v$ j/ q * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies5 w7 C7 }, u* T2 y. k9 P& ~
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs* w0 T1 a, v ?* R) ^
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment
