Duties

1 {( @/ c" ]) M+ X# d" x' m * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications

* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance9 R5 b; k1 ?+ ~7 m& v, H @
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 2 J3 Z# _* M1 |0 h* b- l8 o
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies

* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

* Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required
