Duties

9 p+ M; {0 o) \5 J5 G * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications- J$ V4 j$ r, D
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
$ ~ u' \4 k. [ * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
, E2 t- ]: Z0 U2 V! d/ q2 v3 | * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
' d$ c) K* n/ q2 y( Z1 {, }9 Q * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies& ^+ D' i( ^& O: p$ a/ J$ l: a
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
