Duties" F3 s( N( a! y$ L1 B
: f8 @& S8 @$ p2 z+ T+ d6 m( M, F5 s1 s * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
6 I S, A: n6 I" `8 g * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
7 Q. \- _4 w' {3 H J4 C * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance8 l8 t0 w ?; L' q+ k# I
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students ' p( S4 N* `' Q& N6 K
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies B) E( y# o; ~
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
: G+ O2 T- C+ s( q- ~9 D * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

Qualifications* V3 P0 d! p) p

* Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required; ~! R3 \5 g1 @/ `6 y0 e
