A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.; ?5 F9 `* i% [5 L: z; H
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and

The program includes the following elements:9 f8 s! C" {6 B; v
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1); X$ M# Q3 _2 P. |4 j% L
• Standard Child Care First Aid
1 P, W3 R# S( H$ Q/ O) }; ?" ?; `- E• WHMIS
* X4 ?" `& t- C- f6 V& I. q• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care* G+ a) _1 C D$ Q% `1 e0 ]. |
• Components to improve communication skills
8 l& D, D$ Q7 G( v, V% ~6 D• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search4 O7 ~. A+ J l) u9 h e! ]
• Practicum Placements

• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen' x' e7 c/ g% y6 |# B/ }
of Canada
- U7 @9 o" u T% q• have a Social Insurance Number& X. t5 m; T& @% D+ M* W
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check- T3 }- n2 z3 B; j* {2 S
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
6 K% Q( j& r/ n0 I+ J* R( `' [• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time8 W- e" F. T" B' P

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet D' v6 i; B: ]+ Y- b% T/ _/ ^
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:" X# D) f& C/ s# S9 F$ f K
• be unemployed or underemployed.
