A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

! s+ w& M- U1 t7 c' b, M• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
3 Y; w5 Q2 T: Q. z0 `• Standard Child Care First Aid
9 ^3 _% x: \5 e/ M$ d3 d" ~• WHMIS
- s1 f; E! n3 o( l0 H) }: U" k• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
$ B) ~& [3 C+ m1 X( _4 c# a• Components to improve communication skills+ R6 Y! H+ q* Q3 P2 c/ ]
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
: p+ }" ^+ y+ S0 ?, d! P6 yof Canada* U+ {3 x: \" q: n
• have a Social Insurance Number
8 m; _% R0 J, J j• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check( @3 N) b) G# y/ o# |/ j' M
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent; _8 Q9 `) w3 r$ [7 f J
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
8 m* Y; w) |& \the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:4 u/ D8 @' l. K" Y
• be unemployed or underemployed.
" m+ ^8 X8 ]8 X8 G5 d" _* |8 C. wThey CANNOT quit their job to take the course
