A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

• Standard Child Care First Aid
7 w' A1 x0 H5 L: X$ C• WHMIS( B4 @( l. @. U( {3 R$ y. g! G
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care; E, J) M! B- f$ x
• Components to improve communication skills+ j4 ^' G+ n' l1 x& ~1 `
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search1 v" k7 m1 s! U
• Practicum Placements6 B4 c6 X, V9 D" ^( D' B1 g
Eligibility Criteria
k* w0 N( i/ P2 f• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen5 {+ r+ N# ~) g/ _
of Canada
1 s6 ?# O$ m& @• have a Social Insurance Number
; G$ J" X6 O) G! R• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
0 r- m+ i8 T8 z" n5 e• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent% r! l0 B9 z9 X$ E$ v- w; _+ C" C
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time/ Y: S) O9 A, w1 [7 O6 \9 D) _& z
program
; T1 I4 u" m& _2 OParticipants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet0 q& T: E8 \+ ]9 y* B0 z7 w
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
& H$ A5 ~5 R7 P" k% q• be unemployed or underemployed.
+ @0 _" i( ]6 `! nThey CANNOT quit their job to take the course
6 Q5 [. y* n v( x+ S• meet the financial eligibility criteria
