“self-inflicted” has the connotation of creating theunnecessarypain for one self.

0 E @* U- g5 n; x6 A1 @ 折腾 in Hu"s speech has a strong connotation that such kindofsetback is self-seeking instead of being due to theinterferencefrom outside.

- I" `7 H" m, {9 c “Setback” is a much better word than “trouble”, whichanunseasoned translator would like to use in the firstinstance.“Setback” especially refers to the obstacle ordifficultyencountered in achieving a strategic goal. |
