A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at
9 f' I. E/ r5 Q' @9 s( xleast $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount. ( A& q" C. l4 k* P: o; W$ _6 ?

There are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face ! s$ i. K+ F# s7 Z2 ]: O# o5 ]. e
of so much news. These reasons are:

1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and

Arabia.

racing to produce bio fuels.

are now selling their used oil to bio-diesel producers. Every pork,
% D7 q3 q/ S0 m* v0 u5 ucattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat
+ J( O; v* L8 S( S0 G) K& S' X2 Kto bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is 7 J+ G1 U, S) [0 C) o) x `% {0 d' O
producing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat. ' O: B! H5 [ r) [: |9 L3 r [! w

6. There are 99 nuclear reactors in various stages of planning and $ H/ B7 `5 i. c% O m5 d0 L, c
construction around the world at this time. Several hundred more are

are experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new % M0 D6 X5 F- M6 |0 y
equipment.

; v' a) y; v/ |/ E( lAirlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio- 6 P! N' [8 a L& x, ?5 j2 b0 u

available at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude 1 L; O: C( V: b) S$ ]* O

2 x, E, o4 i- l8 S/ q( g2 { K9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 2 t, f8 Z4 D: I3 p* ^& }& N1 A. g
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into 2 Y/ V+ l" ~" Q: q
oil wells.

10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy

price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world " L- D" O+ X' A
changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability : m0 M" P: {& T- X
to control oil prices.
