Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few 0 z- [# K; I$ t1 j8 x
months. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan.
% e% k8 Y2 {9 oA year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at
0 t7 [' M8 T8 A" r/ x7 i0 \least $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount. ( a2 H7 q+ Z6 W' j: }. f9 C

# l+ ^% f+ W/ m. Z" a4 h$ ZThere are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face
- u7 t6 o- r8 \of so much news. These reasons are:

1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and 9 T# J9 s J, d3 X% g& C. ?0 _
in the ocean near Brazil. Each of these oil fields has more oil than 2 s) D% h0 J8 d' G

& h6 u# N7 H" [3 K2 d' p
# h- x* I5 n. H; R3 E2. New natural gas has been found in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

potential per acre in some cases is astounding. Many countries are " a- ]$ L8 I+ Z5 t( J

! l5 @/ p B2 Dto bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is

will replace oil.

are experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new

Airlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio- ' I" m8 m) g& u: b
fuel is cleaner and performs better than jet fuel.

8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to
& z; T$ b" W5 R% Y/ icapture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas ! T6 L, b' p j' o, r
available at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude
# t3 T# l5 l# x+ D$ joil. 5 W# [6 S+ W# a. E" ]; _: c
8 X U4 R# G+ C: K- a

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 " W* U) ?: ^5 y
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into & A2 [9 E/ T4 j: u/ H! Q9 J7 F& ~
oil wells.
% T/ {5 S; K' I# s' B' t: Y6 e/ o' {! ~. z: l
- x4 _- m: Y4 R0 X) ?5 l10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy 4 `9 e9 F3 k$ n H
source. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US.

Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the

changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability

performed OIL companies and probably they are yet to get the justified
