& w. ]0 D( i, DRecently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few . n( `+ c" E! h
months. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan.
) S6 k9 Y( r/ xA year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at
) u( B/ x) K& wleast $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount.

1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and

) U( H+ e9 |) r3 ?0 b' a

2. New natural gas has been found in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

4. Production of bio-fuels is beginning to reach critical mass. Bio
; ~* B5 `& ]% ~; e8 u- F! Afuel is being produced from many plants and algae. The production
# N9 N! d$ a q3 Y8 E+ k; E4 y& L5 {potential per acre in some cases is astounding. Many countries are 4 p q# f# s9 M. i
racing to produce bio fuels.

- p) v9 B9 v% q5. Virtually every restaurant in the US and all food processing plants
+ _# G& A) h2 e5 ], f* @: d: ^are now selling their used oil to bio-diesel producers. Every pork,
) }. B7 p1 m j8 y" B) d- Xcattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat 4 o0 H' e2 B2 r* y
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is
$ r8 w. u: @- C' H Lproducing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat. ( c8 ?4 }( G' _6 E

- o. Z: `: m9 w* ]+ N% e% h' k6. There are 99 nuclear reactors in various stages of planning and 5 [9 s& j7 K& i+ f- r
construction around the world at this time. Several hundred more are
& }4 y3 A2 R5 P* d& e5 [expected to be built in the future. Much of the energy they produce
( D/ C6 v @; B1 @! f5 A5 R/ Xwill replace oil.

are experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new 6 r; ~/ R! c, g+ S/ b

Airlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio- 5 D8 n% {+ y7 S4 t
fuel is cleaner and performs better than jet fuel.

; x' z, k* q" A: ^% {) Z. s7 h# A6 ?8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to
# |! t. n e& D' w& m8 V, O. ]capture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas
* d3 T9 Z8 s' t4 p- e7 T+ D; Yavailable at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude 2 a* p! G% |' v8 S$ I

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2
. ~7 W; I4 c4 ]produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into
! C7 p% x1 x) c4 t; ooil wells. . G4 s" V6 I! k6 F9 H0 `

- S; _$ e- I9 l3 Y# o3 {9 R5 [10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy 0 {* v& M1 u q. g! n* c4 a
source. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US. + `# q# F' | A

0 @: A2 i3 Y: u" k9 r/ S# {Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the / ~6 c! |4 F, Y' Z8 [6 c% M
price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world 6 }) P0 w* o& r# \/ T/ T4 A
changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability # t3 @/ ~) J! p0 K1 D
to control oil prices.
