months. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan. 4 R6 R. F* u( ~. G
A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at
b- t+ m1 y% H2 f5 r4 p+ Z( |least $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount.

of so much news. These reasons are:

in the ocean near Brazil. Each of these oil fields has more oil than

# C1 e& s- e$ F1 t6 J5 ]- C/ Pracing to produce bio fuels.

5. Virtually every restaurant in the US and all food processing plants - W( a- g, _: Q- F. q
are now selling their used oil to bio-diesel producers. Every pork, & I' m" J1 o* n* w" m
cattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat
8 u+ Z, L" b% I+ ^to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is 6 c- c( `& |# a
producing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat.

. o3 U; x9 t2 [' I6. There are 99 nuclear reactors in various stages of planning and ) [2 J% Y4 a3 q4 A$ u* ^
construction around the world at this time. Several hundred more are

will replace oil.

with new more fuel efficient equipment. Airlines and railway companies
/ k5 A0 \3 n9 ^ Zare experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new

Airlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio- % u" R. W; d4 l% X2 h! k7 `" N$ m

8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to
* I# d1 Y5 U; ]- q' Scapture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas
9 |& a4 n2 u0 S# a3 e1 S- n( qavailable at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude
& [! O5 i/ w' }& f G7 P. h0 Moil.

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 + w6 ^3 o4 Z' M& S( n+ J
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into
* E* K5 o% X' B, J: o' noil wells.

( E9 `; Z8 |9 @10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy
$ j4 J/ W* r: ~source. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US.

i$ t3 A0 D) @7 {Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the 8 J/ D# d; Z0 L C! N% L
price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world 4 @; [* n3 n, j$ K6 s. h. I' M
changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability 7 ?5 B$ T0 o c
to control oil prices.
