Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few 4 F* b$ C @5 u0 T
months. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan. ' g( ]5 i7 t$ p
A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at e) A; ], l" P7 V
least $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount. ! M) H1 w+ G% r5 g+ T

! A- M3 B f T) \There are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face 9 z J4 n4 [) b3 Y8 f( P2 Y9 y
of so much news. These reasons are:

7 \/ D1 o* l4 h- e# \4 F+ @ `" S3 X1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and
: R: U' s) X& W7 D/ p: i& ~in the ocean near Brazil. Each of these oil fields has more oil than
3 x3 }% ~$ E5 G1 u' VArabia.

2. New natural gas has been found in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

3. New methods of injecting CO2 and surfactants into oil wells is

racing to produce bio fuels.

5. Virtually every restaurant in the US and all food processing plants
- R2 }5 m- Z2 Gare now selling their used oil to bio-diesel producers. Every pork,
9 G0 t% R8 n1 _' r; G: rcattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat
( b [8 C" X1 ^( O( e' Bto bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is , L; E e' Q; x1 ~) O& D l, D
producing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat.

will replace oil.

with new more fuel efficient equipment. Airlines and railway companies

equipment.

fuel is cleaner and performs better than jet fuel.

" T2 |4 h" B0 w2 }& s( t" \ n8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to 0 B, R- ~2 K) Q) B G
capture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas
% N: Y$ n* a- `, b. savailable at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude / g. w" y `0 ]5 F- j
oil.

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2
$ x: x! t) B" z, X. O3 Kproduced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into , R H6 z% L) ?; M& b
oil wells.

10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy - w3 r S- I8 f9 S. E4 U7 v
source. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US.

! m# Q0 _/ r* \8 G6 A( aEach of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the 7 `' F+ d# f) t
price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world
" w' ~ X! x$ S" m* G# ~7 mchanging. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability
