Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few

; b0 i# `: o m4 T( hleast $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount.

2. New natural gas has been found in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

potential per acre in some cases is astounding. Many countries are

5. Virtually every restaurant in the US and all food processing plants

to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is
$ Y$ u: }7 G; \/ O+ L8 tproducing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat.

6. There are 99 nuclear reactors in various stages of planning and ( p4 @. c( D& E

expected to be built in the future. Much of the energy they produce

are experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new

fuel is cleaner and performs better than jet fuel.

0 v4 l, g5 z2 s" o9 ? \8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to 4 e9 ?$ p4 u! z
capture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas : ?8 y! H$ X# H# J+ c6 @7 }
available at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude ( B- O" @& X2 C- x& Y
oil.

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 : L" u+ D. p1 h* Q% F3 q( n
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into
3 T4 Y6 y" h- g- D+ s* Goil wells.

10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy
" y; n2 E( p$ o4 L6 z; Zsource. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US. 7 Z& K5 k; q# D5 d( o% p

Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the 6 z- F: V; r1 P% U3 g. v& Z
price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world 4 t' S) w4 l- }/ Y
changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability & r9 o3 d+ Z0 X3 [0 E! E
