companies producing Jet fuels but Biofuels. Also no wonder if some of

Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few $ t/ I" @* p/ ]8 P9 x1 X8 O
months. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan. ( G6 @( F6 c7 U
A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at
0 f$ r i# ?( aleast $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount. 0 w% a3 G: B- q( N0 T
+ i, ?4 z! |, X. A7 Y+ b9 R7 t# K, ~0 G- B% m7 k
There are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face
9 T4 S: k4 Y+ h0 F8 Bof so much news. These reasons are: ! {1 j- P$ \1 Z7 h& P

1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and
9 U. l& I {: k7 f' h7 l$ F( `in the ocean near Brazil. Each of these oil fields has more oil than

2. New natural gas has been found in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

cattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat 3 N9 i( x5 I9 d; `2 }
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is , o" g7 ~' I! G4 Q9 Q1 x
producing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat.

Airlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio-

8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to
* J; V+ H) d* b& n1 hcapture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas
2 K4 }, v- A# oavailable at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude
9 V1 Z, d* W9 M* V5 uoil.

9 Y. O1 l% ?" ^. S3 v0 M1 V9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 1 ~1 H5 C# A2 h1 Q- P% W
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into 8 u# x4 M U8 K7 i) c" W( U% U1 J
oil wells.

10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy W0 t' g: j2 T5 G3 J0 X

Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the 7 C, t) w" B, C4 [$ M
price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world
, m" @0 t7 X6 P0 f6 R" qchanging. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability
& y. R$ Q& t2 i) fto control oil prices.
