Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few
, Z; L3 U" W; O8 b5 D! Kmonths. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan.
/ f7 \- h5 b3 }/ J4 p' l$ p5 xA year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at 3 p) \- h# T1 Z8 b1 f* p* S
least $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount.

There are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face 2 V6 q' R+ T* @, s; k0 J; z3 e9 c
of so much news. These reasons are:

1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and 4 f7 Q1 F0 E& s: G6 k" _
in the ocean near Brazil. Each of these oil fields has more oil than

2. New natural gas has been found in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. ; n7 B) u' H5 C
This is the largest find in North America.

3. New methods of injecting CO2 and surfactants into oil wells is

( a T+ A* {- q! e) G4. Production of bio-fuels is beginning to reach critical mass. Bio

racing to produce bio fuels.

cattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat * A9 b7 p% q; K$ n9 v% W
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is
5 n8 X8 ~ y. \producing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat. * X4 v/ R8 t, O; i4 T( X

6. There are 99 nuclear reactors in various stages of planning and 4 ]+ t5 k% \- T9 h" q$ | i

expected to be built in the future. Much of the energy they produce

2 V: a: w+ y- N2 mAirlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio- 3 `2 ?/ z/ _/ x4 {7 ?
fuel is cleaner and performs better than jet fuel.

8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to 1 M8 s/ p3 ?) S, I5 j# V
capture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas / w. Y4 ?: D8 o+ y1 u8 z" R; @
available at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude * l$ f I1 R8 p; n: k6 b
oil.

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 # u: f0 R3 y+ _
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into - R7 t) S4 S8 L
oil wells.

10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy 6 r: L3 N+ f$ K: h+ M! v
source. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US. o4 r( m* f ?- k( ~

$ D% H- D+ ]# x5 \' C$ K) DEach of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the ! H6 S' h. s# R1 ] A+ r( R& u
price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world ) j* e8 h# g! g: a
changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability , A I! q' \! I; X

performed OIL companies and probably they are yet to get the justified
