Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few
4 {' M/ J8 ]- X) {$ gmonths. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan. 6 U& X k. q! L4 H O
A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at
* y6 {0 C3 y! q- c% f0 I( B3 qleast $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount.

% x& V7 D* g. a8 i% j5 lThere are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face

1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and / L, h$ V4 l3 f% ^

racing to produce bio fuels.

to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is ! x+ U% ^8 T7 Q. }( j
producing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat.

are experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new - L9 V. w$ \$ o2 U0 _1 M
equipment.

2 o, s% n# A" L' ^Airlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio-

8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to ) b( g, T: |6 B @7 c: R9 t
capture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas , N* j t; v& c" l
available at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude : z3 f% k! s! U; ~' m- W
oil.

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2

" E( i8 c* [5 q2 l k10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy
6 A! m" ^ W: T; ^source. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US.

Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the

changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability
& N L7 M" L( ^ K6 C& u7 d0 cto control oil prices.
