A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at
9 h/ [6 Z% {$ Y0 ]8 P Nleast $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount. ( U( s! ?! f9 z5 [

There are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face 8 x+ l% ]/ ]) {% [+ g( g$ a

$ O' X; [# }8 o. y1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and + J/ r! U9 G. n# Z5 @. e3 L
in the ocean near Brazil. Each of these oil fields has more oil than 3 |9 [4 y0 g* x$ o

potential per acre in some cases is astounding. Many countries are ) ^. c# g! i5 f# p
racing to produce bio fuels.

cattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat # F% q% R2 N# I1 ]/ s! d6 B
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is

9 k, _6 J" [+ n. `; N. ]6. There are 99 nuclear reactors in various stages of planning and

expected to be built in the future. Much of the energy they produce

with new more fuel efficient equipment. Airlines and railway companies $ H+ | @$ |: H- i5 X
are experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new
$ x2 D! p5 L4 w; E/ E \equipment.

Airlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio- 3 z1 @8 e7 l; ~+ }; p' i
fuel is cleaner and performs better than jet fuel. $ G; d, I. P4 W

" q: }$ ]7 I1 O8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to
/ y3 s* `& X* c1 Y7 W S8 ucapture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas U9 X, t. X* C6 B6 S
available at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude + h* s9 F: M0 l9 u x R. R
oil.
, B, Z( g1 _; b5 e4 m$ l6 T) x* n# t/ X" @& I" k% I% A! F+ N9 A) g
+ b0 D7 p/ L( O+ M1 w
9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2
5 d2 B. H! p7 ]. b& {produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into
$ t2 X% [/ t% z. l. Voil wells.

10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy ( r7 `" i+ t. }2 p$ W
source. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US. ; y q5 V( j5 u" o

Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the
1 o0 L1 N W8 Sprice of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world % t& [; p# `" s! G) b c
changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability

performed OIL companies and probably they are yet to get the justified ' S) F. G! i' U# ?8 R2 x
