crude prices improves. This implies also to good names such as Shell,

Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few 2 Y- j" |* d& h* k2 R! z( s7 F
months. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan.
* H% {" Q5 Y* mA year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at
3 Y) h& t) ]: Z. p) e3 Nleast $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount.

8 U P, t* K. d: BThere are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face

1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and 9 ~7 c4 W! z8 A( W- }; I/ y" l
in the ocean near Brazil. Each of these oil fields has more oil than
5 V, Q" r/ [2 DArabia.

cattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat 3 G" ^: y; Q* o8 G* ~
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is + J$ h. U# j; z$ N+ M" a2 x" f
producing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat.

are experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new

capture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas # t, d* I7 z/ u$ q
available at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude 8 ?8 b9 h- Z, w$ P; ~3 v

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 5 @* v2 U/ d2 h/ j
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into 9 ]% _7 W' R ~4 o& Y- f3 u3 A' V8 o) G
oil wells. n5 Z9 o r4 ^- m

source. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US.

Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the * v* x( u5 \7 x
price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world + D N8 b/ _6 d3 e) m9 H0 \
changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability , t5 w @; B# c9 m% d
to control oil prices.
