Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few 5 m2 N8 l5 @7 V; r
months. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan. 5 d/ P, a5 V ~5 B) c- n) U
A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at / V3 D& {8 p& n( O8 \) f& K
least $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount. K% s, R3 c, h1 b

There are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face - w7 l5 D" E, w3 c3 U
of so much news. These reasons are:

1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and ) W' N0 ]2 Z3 u* C# W
in the ocean near Brazil. Each of these oil fields has more oil than

6 E" o7 E3 y' j- \( X, r: O; ~- M9 M2. New natural gas has been found in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

are now selling their used oil to bio-diesel producers. Every pork,
+ Y) I2 \1 z. ]% Zcattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat 9 S, h. x) e, c: g& {$ g% m& w
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is 6 z' ?; U, F" q7 X- |$ V) ~( x! ]
producing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat. 6 |7 f4 z" K7 `) H% M5 Z- M+ n

expected to be built in the future. Much of the energy they produce

Airlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio- 7 O+ h3 I( c, j

8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to
+ v" Y& p$ h% K, V. j# S* hcapture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas
3 r3 g4 j8 T6 X) ]available at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude 5 i, \% y1 P" s5 p2 }
oil. % w" i% H( B4 Z

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 $ b9 q, R9 F7 X# H6 m2 |4 [
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into 2 V, T/ r9 Z0 D) W
oil wells.

, i7 h9 b: }/ }8 {10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy

price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world
