months. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan. % S; ?1 _* P/ B
A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at
( p! }0 V. Y; G: g5 q1 nleast $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount. 7 J! ?; y' O4 v& |: Y8 a, k0 ]8 q

There are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face
+ G. u0 {$ P H1 Rof so much news. These reasons are:

potential per acre in some cases is astounding. Many countries are & r7 g/ `& j3 G3 K! h, b5 ~

5. Virtually every restaurant in the US and all food processing plants
: A0 L7 N' T5 x/ d8 P. B. Y& Vare now selling their used oil to bio-diesel producers. Every pork,
" M3 W0 K W7 _( I s3 ccattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat 1 T) K6 t0 p2 D' Y) G6 O- u
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is 3 U# p% H3 m/ ^6 K
producing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat.

& l8 H* y. y4 h6 D6. There are 99 nuclear reactors in various stages of planning and ) C$ A% D0 y/ A7 P S; t' N

expected to be built in the future. Much of the energy they produce % E: |2 R* {- j7 R" ~
will replace oil.

are experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new

capture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas
# ?3 {* d6 {4 }' ^4 Mavailable at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude
% p* F: r1 |% Woil.

4 P/ v8 g+ _: v" T! r ?" D9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 , G2 s3 p" o; u3 g
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into

10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy
9 C4 A1 Z2 h- g# F* ysource. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US.

Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the
) \# c8 e; O7 R, Y) u9 W* x* Zprice of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world
, Z8 E* H0 Y4 f$ B9 wchanging. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability ) \% x6 ?) [# }" ~
to control oil prices.
