Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few
$ d: ?3 J# L% Q3 jmonths. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan. $ i3 c5 B( _. t% e
A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at 7 w5 ~7 n# \+ k3 F; ?# C A
least $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount. # c5 f; t( B! |7 G5 o) G/ W

There are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face

1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and

3. New methods of injecting CO2 and surfactants into oil wells is

4. Production of bio-fuels is beginning to reach critical mass. Bio

: h+ V2 Q7 f. P, v6 r0 Y, icattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat 3 ?( D h5 K& P: _5 ^2 S8 U
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is
" r0 @% w: m2 X1 M0 Hproducing 30,000 gallons of bio-diesel per day from pork fat.

will replace oil.

are experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new

Airlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio- 9 U% _4 _/ l3 h/ _( l
fuel is cleaner and performs better than jet fuel.

8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to

0 i+ r$ t8 M9 {/ _* |, Bavailable at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude " X8 Y( r- ?$ G- b+ ^
oil.

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2
: b% Z2 ~$ M) y% B9 Xproduced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into 8 C+ K% p" Q; ^/ w# g2 E" g
oil wells. ! ]- u: b0 T* x2 D ]/ M0 W- J
% E c4 W3 H. {/ V8 E1 I9 H( T! v& ~$ ~0 g" `) r# }* o- k; d
10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy
. A7 [/ c/ L+ g' v& G7 Vsource. Three new wind turbines are being erected every day in the US. + y4 x% k8 _& [8 K, _/ ~

Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the

changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability $ }2 G8 V$ j* M
to control oil prices.
