8 B( R% p$ E! L7 ~Recently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few
% C ]* W; o. Z! @% G0 Emonths. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan. : S& Y* K7 k# b: A" _3 I; B
A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at / b- k( Q5 U2 H
least $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount.

There are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face , @( ]6 F( m8 q8 |9 d3 g
of so much news. These reasons are:

1. New oil has been found in Canada, Montana, North & South Dakota and 6 G3 K9 N$ Y" r& z
in the ocean near Brazil. Each of these oil fields has more oil than

2 M9 q" s2 e' h: N+ m+ i- h* W

This is the largest find in North America.

4. Production of bio-fuels is beginning to reach critical mass. Bio

! I( R& [6 y7 ^3 C$ \9 uto bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is

are experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new 6 D! {5 ]; R3 h! R: L3 X. U
equipment.

capture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas

9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2 / X; _3 c& k1 }: y! W; ^# f
produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into - ?: k" c; h l- S& F; I/ x; ?

10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy

price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world / s+ t" p, e7 O/ T
changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability - Z% l5 V$ o# t6 R4 j( @+ ^
to control oil prices. ) K' a0 D- C) c$ L( R6 c
