Edmonton — Homicide detectives are investigating after a woman was found dead in a west-end apartment yesterday morning.

Ambulance personnel were called to the building at 9023 184 St. at around 4:20 a.m., found the body of a 50-year-old woman inside one of the suites, and called police.4 S7 g' x ]' W- B9 N6 i9 g

Investigators have not released the cause of death, but are calling the death suspicious.

! \, v) }1 m* }- q; PPolice say the address is known to west division officers, who have responded to the suite several times in the past for family-related disturbances.

A twisted samurai-style sword lay on the ground a few steps from the entrance, the only sign of anything amiss in the quiet complex.( {, }' l/ [2 m* N) \+ X0 B

b4 ]2 l% x9 J2 U( A( `: ~. |“My granddaughter is 20 and is scared to go out,” Joan Harvey said while visiting her relative yesterday afternoon. “I’m scared for her.”
