How much is your receiver? about $400? some websites sell it cheaper, which is around 320, but I am not sure of their credibility.

How long do you plan to live there? Put the tripod whereever it is safe and secure, such as the the balcony or even the outside of your window. I noticed that there is a guy using a chair holding a dish in front of his yard. It should be safe. There are not many vandals here.
