Edmonton police are investigating two killings from early Sunday morning, the city's 20th and 21st homicides of the year.

At approximately 2:20 a.m. MT, the EPS responded to a call of shots fired at a silver Infiniti near a Whitemud Drive overpass at 170th Street.

The driver of the car was found dead at the scene.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation, but police believe the incident is not random and is likely gang-related.

At approximately 2:45 a.m. MT, officers spotted a vehicle being driven the wrong way on Gateway Boulevard near Whyte Avenue.

Upon stopping the car, the officers learned that one of the passengers, a 24-year-old male, was seriously injured.

! _, U, B ~+ J0 XA police investigation revealed that the three male occupants of the vehicle had been involved in a physical altercation with two other males and a female near an alley south of Whyte Avenue, between Gateway Boulevard and Calgary Trail, which resulted in one male being stabbed.3 z6 l( n3 p!
