Duties

8 t, T/ A W7 N- [: m * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
6 a- V6 M1 t8 }* N) T * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities+ Z* Q& ]) O7 g5 D
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
) w5 l, Y8 M( Q# k * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat3 C2 Z7 G5 @5 v$ N: }9 W% T
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
8 Y( v% ]8 \! I. i * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements% w! z' Z A" ~: s
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
" [. D. g5 V+ j4 N * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director- @' ]$ x# S+ O+ K7 R
* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning/ G G0 Z9 w/ B
* Develops high quality promotional and educational materials3 k/ N& {6 @- }& U5 P% D
* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media3 W7 L6 q9 T# B; Y7 k W. c) t
* Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results6 \: Y( M- f; x- x# V; {
* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

Qualifications5 {6 e. j, c$ c; T
* M: ~7 j7 z# f: n6 q7 g$ b! D* K& E
* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
9 t7 _1 h _$ D9 x* j7 y* b * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth- D# F% L* Z0 u J# m
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
8 N8 A6 m, P& D$ D' r/ ^* Y * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies; r2 w5 W1 |8 }0 Z8 ~
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
# S5 U! A) W# o! b8 S7 m- g0 z% R2 u * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
4 @) Z6 N) B0 v: B6 z * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
