6 V3 J8 o! } M% D * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program. z! H9 b; \: C$ t8 I; K
* Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
q7 \; w& K' [ * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes4 @! i9 F+ I% x. E5 [" f8 J# v
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat h: `. |" a7 s: h% U U
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
, } E# T- j' ~* @ * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
. A G( x. `' Q' K5 f6 C * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs

* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media

* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies* ]7 D4 r" E9 t+ U
# B0 M0 t% q( AQualifications
# d. {1 I( T, o; ~( Y, |3 p; C: ~' |& b$ o* j% @; S
* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
( B, ?* |, F. L' A' B- q/ B * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth( g8 f' F+ W* E e$ n6 Z3 o" N2 J
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset# l0 N9 Q) D+ e- P! X# |7 T
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
$ h. P% Z' v0 I+ ]* @) J * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
( ?; P; k1 z' g& @. y2 ] * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
$ j6 B6 F% a8 V8 B9 x) j * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
