Duties

+ M9 `& j ]5 {. p$ |; G * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
+ `: B, @& A7 ]0 D" P * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
& g ^, ?/ L" w! h X' Q4 a, h- A * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes# D$ ~% L9 U+ V* S0 k
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat7 B7 z, t' H6 ~; J& M1 k! ~
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
, }4 ^0 p7 @ x% m0 t * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements( [& u' W W. b! g# h$ M
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs: s# }' T; c$ U) A9 T6 t% u2 M
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
* E5 {. U8 G% p6 J- r * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning

* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media/ f, ^ ^3 ~! s
* Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
' S3 J1 H8 S8 m2 W2 U * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies" t/ m. I# B9 r8 g0 S/ [% X+ C S

Qualifications( Y0 A( f' H# ]3 t* i0 n! ^

* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
( |6 {3 d! n6 o* v * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
! _- Z5 i3 V+ Z7 O3 n * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
2 l! h: \' f4 B) L! G * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies3 p% S- D5 E. H4 D7 N
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
+ g9 P6 x- l* O& O0 ]7 S, [ * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning- |8 j1 c. o. O( R7 K& Q
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)( I% U7 ~& E2 P8 |( A9 W- T
* Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
