8 X( T: V0 a4 M8 S7 hDuties

; z9 S3 Z, f1 N    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
  t- ?+ N1 A) N& `( ^    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
, E5 ]2 b! L7 E2 P    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
5 q  t: C  B* B! ?! M    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
! D$ ^7 B( u  p" m2 Q    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
* g. j4 W$ b) }" k    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
6 ^, n  g; r% {- }0 q) U$ U# f    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
$ v4 E& f) P: U5 p6 T. ^    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
5 n; P* T8 g4 ~* p0 c; N9 ?1 H    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

" [$ L' ~; L7 R* qQualifications

    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
# L4 H( C/ n" Z8 {, @4 C    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
    * Fundraising skills an asset
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
) k. ~" M9 ?  _' Q2 F" q. }    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
, C$ g% B! }/ X" y    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
