* Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region% A- k* L: [" F0 S- I" i0 x
* Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group

* Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations- x. W! S, w$ z d0 D4 w
* Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director3 o; K K5 t( ^5 [
* Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses- B$ _; ?( M: l% b7 z2 J* x1 S$ T
* Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth

* Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs

* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
+ Q J/ q, ~8 y! b6 J * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth% G) i# t7 J! d% S n V0 N
* Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies5 i' G; C1 K2 g. M4 ^$ N
* Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs7 ?3 l' o' M; [* F4 Q( D
* Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community& o; y- G2 p4 }, U- a
* Fundraising skills an asset
; S( M2 ?2 r( \ * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills# d9 k2 `- D v; f# ?" [
* Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
