. g f) j: b& M: k0 V" `. C * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region9 F2 P5 E R' d% N
* Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group: E* l q, W) Q! T$ U- ~) @
* Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators6 ^: t, v0 a5 f* J
* Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
$ `0 y1 h- i& t& I * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director* u/ _: ?2 W* @* m
* Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses

* Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program% a$ b4 F" R' l f% h( X# {& m* n
* Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment1 i8 U4 z, x; ^, `1 F
* Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports- ]( R: y; ?0 U7 ?) _* t3 G
* Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs! `. j+ w3 T4 H
* Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly' \' S$ X: X9 }
* Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

Qualifications+ b# d$ L! R/ w" o0 E4 z* f' y
, M% X/ z2 |: {# g4 r * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline9 m- G! o' @/ H3 a
* Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
) T4 s6 R* I6 R. b! D" @ * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies' s; c9 u- }# o. W/ B
* Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
1 S) L/ G3 ?3 z" f+ W* p * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
0 U l7 u1 z0 x * Fundraising skills an asset$ L4 F- L5 b+ v9 F+ i" u
* Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
