* Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region8 T: i" S7 e5 |% X
* Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
* I4 b& b7 U5 G& t * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators" A- s( p& G; x$ E8 o. A
* Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
& q* u5 E7 F& y6 \; t8 {1 g * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director5 @ b8 A1 u8 l: j! R0 [* y: r
* Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
, h, E; }* ?0 v5 ^ m7 s! g n; y * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth

* Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
) l+ a, L z7 Z * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports. X; y- \) Q% h( ~$ B
* Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs: p5 r2 K5 n- Q1 S1 `
* Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
. H) l; n0 m" D9 @/ Z2 N# Z * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

* Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
, s, O4 Y/ H# X. G3 F9 h% F0 C& z * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
+ u2 I2 M- x) T- W8 @# f * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
2 J6 H( y7 k* Q \, s3 g * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
4 ~/ y2 o1 r( R4 j: j * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community1 d& Z+ K, D) r' q6 G+ T& o

* Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills% @, ?# b9 f9 _

* Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills# n: l& S v ]$ y; Z

* Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
