I do not think Firefox is faster than IE. There are more viruses to IE just because it's more popular and Firefox is pretty new. If FireFox occupies 80% of the market, who knows what will happen. So just choose based on your own needs.
For whatever reason, Firefox should be safer, I am not saying faster though. But spyware/adware can make your computor very slow. Check you folder: 2 {4 h$ H- {' R$ S% p9 d5 N8 q; y% Z# V# v- @5 \& M6 l9 U
Documents and Setting\(your user name)\cookie or folder system32 to see what kind of adware\sypware already in your system , T8 R+ \$ |" K

Why you call all stuff under ***\***\cookie spyware/adware? q: Z7 H( h( p; o& W 1 m4 c) f1 q% xAll of them are just cookies. If you do not like the activeX, in XP, you can just disable it in the IE configuration. $ |2 n) N: L+ t/ P* t: ], w* K7 ^, o$ s8 ^ k
I am using Mozilla in my Linux and IE in my XP. Besides the muti-tab feature, they are almost the same.
