I do not think Firefox is faster than IE. There are more viruses to IE just because it's more popular and Firefox is pretty new. If FireFox occupies 80% of the market, who knows what will happen. It's nothing about ActiveX technology. There is nothing that is bulletproof. * \0 C" w3 V- H+ v8 y" O 8 K9 B+ B+ ~! @ [3 WSo just choose based on your own needs.
For whatever reason, Firefox should be safer, I am not saying faster though. But spyware/adware can make your computor very slow. Check you folder: ; a( V# w+ G+ w, e* d4 C0 K" G7 q% K7 K

I am using Mozilla in my Linux and IE in my XP. Besides the muti-tab feature, they are almost the same.
