1。缺省建议使用firefox浏览器（内置Adware屏蔽，使用非Active X技术，中毒几率会减小很多）, 使用防火墙（比如瑞星、天网）关闭IE浏览器，因为IE被可恶的微软公司嵌入系统，所以无法卸载。因为IE使用Active X技术，更容易被黑客攻破。尤其是AdwareSpyware病毒，专门利用IE的Active X攻入你的电脑，记录你的电脑本地信息。有些网站用Firefox打不开，这时IE可以备用，使用结束后，再关闭IE./ Y# y- N; l- ]7 i
I do not think Firefox is faster than IE. There are more viruses to IE just because it's more popular and Firefox is pretty new. If FireFox occupies 80% of the market, who knows what will happen. It's nothing about ActiveX technology. There is nothing that is bulletproof.9 J! M; {: Z: S! @

So just choose based on your own needs.
For whatever reason, Firefox should be safer, I am not saying faster though. But spyware/adware can make your computor very slow. Check you folder: 2 Y' r9 ^: u+ O % G) L; z& N" I4 x) K' k8 DDocuments and Setting\(your user name)\cookie or folder system32 to see what kind of adware\sypware already in your system 3 f( R% ~) L/ F+ ^

All of them are just cookies. If you do not like the activeX, in XP, you can just disable it in the IE configuration. + N r% f( [0 a- K0 r. u) h7 Y l3 C& D. c; j0 W
I am using Mozilla in my Linux and IE in my XP. Besides the muti-tab feature, they are almost the same.
