I do not think Firefox is faster than IE. There are more viruses to IE just because it's more popular and Firefox is pretty new. If FireFox occupies 80% of the market, who knows what will happen. For whatever reason, Firefox should be safer, I am not saying faster though. But spyware/adware can make your computor very slow. If you do not like the activeX, in XP, you can just disable it in the IE configuration. / z# w( |/ y. f7 E + l5 p( T: U; w9 hI am using Mozilla in my Linux and IE in my XP. Besides the muti-tab feature, they are almost the same.
