* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis- J' Q# u* y: v
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography( S, q- j. V/ [9 k) c9 n6 d. ]. J
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques' ^) f9 _( W1 ?$ ]4 l2 k' P6 p! r
* Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client8 V b+ D- D1 [, Q5 v
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry
% ]8 m9 w- a& E% d * Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals

* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices$ E% Q' B& T9 T% t# I" x
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS). u; A% A) q. a- J, ^% D' o

Qualifications

9 {# Q0 l: ^4 t2 Z1 l, D * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
7 R3 K. {0 B% {+ p1 a' N7 J8 a$ ^7 m * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
' M- }& K s3 ~. F' D0 X * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
- y, F5 o9 i+ q: X * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
