* Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis& R3 \! B- e7 ?9 i
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography" Z1 r1 l$ K+ O& Q( B
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
: i, d1 K, u) _* F5 }+ L+ y * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
$ M8 I, _( M- G7 I8 L4 b * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry/ W+ ^: u0 k- A. m
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals! D: Y; F5 y5 H/ J9 U, H9 F8 E
* Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab$ m+ _# ]% `3 r% n$ D I" q
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices
) |+ d, f6 F% f/ M' w* X. _ * Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)4 L" m! K2 h1 P# Z6 G

Qualifications
* _) R3 K u5 a" f4 g. A" K0 D$ A6 ^( H3 c9 ]$ i3 U
* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred+ e3 n" ~! T. q/ Q2 [4 u
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
- s* v9 y4 u/ r, B * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel
Z& p$ X2 s$ w: h" x9 O& P: Z * A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures
