" d6 b: \8 g2 O- L; M2 n; U * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis. o1 r! _: J" R8 R6 Q9 R
* Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography, Y0 V( m/ S: Q1 |, s# s
* Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
! ]& P2 Y' Z# Q% ^' F, G! f2 _; A * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client/ T; r8 T. K! y: O) h! ]
* Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry( M* }6 `4 |0 j5 g/ ^' z/ @0 [
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals
' a* e" h$ }; [+ ` * Provides safety training to students, staff and visitors using the lab; W; z2 c' K4 y. K9 }
* Provides administrative support by maintaining records, (usage and expenses) and prepares invoices7 x# H# h! c; p3 Y: @
* Assists with laser ablation analyses on the multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICPMS)

* Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred: ~3 @) J/ x% z( W: Z) J3 _
* 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)" O7 R5 ^& T0 }$ m! i* B& `
* Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel* }( _- S2 y. G5 o) V6 }6 v/ [ \
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures$ ]+ z! k% \5 t$ p* u3 }
* Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment6 P, x' M% ]$ k: K2 ^
