The road test will run the full time unless the Examiner feels that your safety, or the safety of others, is at risk.

Who is my Examiner?

· The Examiner will introduce him/herself and provide proof of identification, when requested.
* j( K/ y `# {& l· All Driver Examiners are licensed by Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation under the Driver Training5 M V) F8 O! C5 T( y
and Driver Examination Regulation. They are monitored to ensure they provide high quality road8 y6 a! {0 c6 v8 w7 g9 f6 Y
tests. They should be courteous and professional, keeping conversation at all times relevant to the

What do I bring for my road test?& v1 V1 Y! \' b# @9 T- @
$ ]4 \4 s5 y+ \9 P% M! c· You must have your Learner’s licence. If you have a temporary licence (non-photo)
$ Q8 g* X; ^! }6 bthen you must also provide acceptable photo ID.2 F% h! f# ^2 L
· Wear clothing that is practical for driving and comfort. It should be appropriate for the
% S }" J8 f5 o D9 mweather conditions (in case your vehicle breaks down and you have to wait or walk).& b8 l4 m b; W+ E/ u1 U
· Your vehicle must meet all legal requirements (good mechanical condition, valid9 {8 t+ H/ ?9 L$ {. C' f
insurance and registration) and have enough fuel for at least one hour of driving.. {* f' Q n; o2 \ G
· Payment for the test must be made directly to the Examiner or Registry office.

A Driver Examination Checklist will be completed by the Examiner. This document will contain the following

The Examiner will do a vehicle check with you. You will be in the driver’s seat and the examiner will ask you to& \1 i, C9 a3 o# W' U
assist in checking the signal and brake lights, horn, brakes, and steering. You will be asked to describe and$ Q! } U9 g! @, c& t
demonstrate two of the instruments or controls inside the vehicle, such as the hazard lights and windshield5 v6 z S8 T5 K( F+ u
wipers. The Examiner will provide information before you move the vehicle about the route and the instructions/ \9 x8 \, }6 ~5 H( I1 b' P
that you will be given during the test.

· You will be given ample instruction in advance for each manoeuvre and activity.9 G, L" v* \/ L( g
· Points will be assigned for errors. You will be allowed a maximum of 75 points to pass the road test.- o2 W/ w$ R9 v, b9 m& ~
You must not do anything that is considered unlawful, dangerous, or unsafe, (for example, speeding or not/ K2 }" i6 F( c
stopping at a stop sign).

; ^6 q. [ L7 ]# L· The Examiner will not ask you to do anything illegal.% v2 F/ w3 j2 r& _
· When the road test is finished, the Examiner will highlight the areas you performed well, as well as$ u; A- e. n3 Q" z$ Q
the areas you need to improve upon. The points for errors will be explained at this time.

Alberta Registry Agent to have your licence changed to a Class 5 Probationary Licence. There will be a fee for this9 H/ k' z' s6 B4 E0 Y3 d& G

What do I do if I do not pass my road test?$ s" ~ A4 g% ?5 I

The Examiner will give you a copy of the Driver Examination Checklist form. This form will indicate that you have
