What activities will I do during my road test?

· how to hill park (up or down)

Who is my Examiner?

· The Examiner will introduce him/herself and provide proof of identification, when requested.
0 y' u, h- b7 B/ U& P1 }$ }· All Driver Examiners are licensed by Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation under the Driver Training! b. t4 a" t8 @
and Driver Examination Regulation. They are monitored to ensure they provide high quality road

' Q5 [2 n; D. t" T OWhat do I bring for my road test?

· You must have your Learner’s licence. If you have a temporary licence (non-photo), s" G( n9 x/ h p- A
then you must also provide acceptable photo ID.
% C! F& i6 q. h8 Z* f |+ l% u5 s· Wear clothing that is practical for driving and comfort. It should be appropriate for the2 E& e' x1 C7 ^* |4 B2 p* T
weather conditions (in case your vehicle breaks down and you have to wait or walk).& s7 a& O% Q7 [- {# J8 w ]
· Your vehicle must meet all legal requirements (good mechanical condition, valid d# {- B- }' k$ W+ y, H; w
insurance and registration) and have enough fuel for at least one hour of driving.

The Examiner will do a vehicle check with you. You will be in the driver’s seat and the examiner will ask you to
/ I- B# x$ j" Q O: }7 Dassist in checking the signal and brake lights, horn, brakes, and steering. You will be asked to describe and! ^" o5 f$ Y8 R" a
demonstrate two of the instruments or controls inside the vehicle, such as the hazard lights and windshield
! B$ ?# f& N& x$ c5 Y# f) zwipers. The Examiner will provide information before you move the vehicle about the route and the instructions5 |) U" w- Y4 q3 l/ `

While Driving …

· You will be given ample instruction in advance for each manoeuvre and activity.6 r/ u! l* h% E5 x$ O
· Points will be assigned for errors. You will be allowed a maximum of 75 points to pass the road test./ N( j P- x- L* c; B6 P" R
You must not do anything that is considered unlawful, dangerous, or unsafe, (for example, speeding or not& n z: o8 Z+ H
stopping at a stop sign)." F9 l X( d4 I3 [) ?
· The Examiner will not try to trick you.
8 t; g! d# G8 O4 J· The Examiner will not ask you to do anything illegal.
: C0 j$ Y+ s0 V, J7 d" \# a: _& C· When the road test is finished, the Examiner will highlight the areas you performed well, as well as7 P1 l3 ` V2 c N }
the areas you need to improve upon. The points for errors will be explained at this time.

What do I do when I pass my road test?

Test Permit. This will indicate that you have passed. Take this permit, along with your learner’s licence, to any
) G/ J# J$ u$ b: A0 c) i8 |Alberta Registry Agent to have your licence changed to a Class 5 Probationary Licence. There will be a fee for this

What do I do if I do not pass my road test?
