Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) at ASSIST Community Services Centre is currently seeking flexible individual to fill the following two positions:

(Full time: 35 hours per week)

- answer multi-line phone calls professionally, politely and directing the calls correctly.+ J* P4 t; y( T* i& r
- assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker
! E: C/ u4 @7 |/ j% @- reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team. U5 m/ u6 ~/ O5 {

Qualifications:

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community! r, S1 ?. z6 S) I. m
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services% j8 }0 m# n* V
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services _4 p4 X7 V* @! D. r
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies+ q$ W) D; N3 W; n6 S
- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members. R1 ], S" T7 v5 {+ [
- update ASSIST website4 U& P6 c! n3 L
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
m# ^: h& q. s* x& U( |- M- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
. M7 A4 s* X2 _" f/ K1 T, \7 }- assist in writing proposal for ISP
6 z, @8 i& l# E) I- write quarterly and final reports for ISP
2 ]# q# d" l% p5 e- hold regular meetings with ISP team$ W* o W! v k7 s8 q1 J* C
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

Qualifications& @8 L, X+ c7 @& G8 D; d
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
. _ c/ H+ i: f: L- good oral and written Chinese and English skills8 e- M# w/ a1 }$ d1 ?6 V! B
- experience in community work and immigrant services/ Y _8 D' A6 x0 W1 h4 P- L: i
- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset7 R" b. P- o" a' i! N
