' x; p, j1 ]# p) A {! o% a+ D7 AThis is a clinic conducted by Badminton Alberta to train people as badminton officials. People who play badminton at a recreational, club, or higher level are ideal candidates for# W! M9 }' K9 C( ]3 G/ K: i
becoming badminton officials. The clinic consists of two parts. The first part consists of classroom training. This is followed by on-court practice during which trainees will have a chance to put their classroom learning to on-court practice. Trainees will also observe how certified badminton officials officiate matches and learn from them.! ]6 q# w* Y7 Z& }9 C
* N( Q% f9 W; M0 dTrainees who completed the theory and on-court practice at the training clinic can decide when they are ready to attempt a closed book exam conducted by the Badminton Officials
% }2 s8 Y+ k4 }' E+ hof Alberta Association. Upon passing the exam, the trainee is eligible to be certified as a badminton official at the regional level and will be given opportunities to work with different* `3 m" n b6 M" Z' o2 l
certified badminton officials to practice their officiating skills over a period of time at different badminton events.
