EDBA (Edmonton District Badminton Association，就是我们加入的那个协会）在2月23日星期六举行一个裁判的培训。9 H! q6 v o6 O

; E: e4 z9 w! G; S9 ]This is a clinic conducted by Badminton Alberta to train people as badminton officials. People who play badminton at a recreational, club, or higher level are ideal candidates for3 k" h- t) [ }( R
becoming badminton officials. The clinic consists of two parts. The first part consists of classroom training. This is followed by on-court practice during which trainees will have a chance to put their classroom learning to on-court practice. Trainees will also observe how certified badminton officials officiate matches and learn from them.

8 i0 k" I7 E2 [7 [. {! YTrainees who completed the theory and on-court practice at the training clinic can decide when they are ready to attempt a closed book exam conducted by the Badminton Officials
! g3 @* }# M, v% A, I" ~of Alberta Association. Upon passing the exam, the trainee is eligible to be certified as a badminton official at the regional level and will be given opportunities to work with different$ ?# w0 h% I8 P- G
certified badminton officials to practice their officiating skills over a period of time at different badminton events.6 a+ W3 \# ]4 x
0 X4 G2 D+ e& gCertified regional badminton officials can move on to become certified officials at the provincial, national, and international level. |
