PREPARATION:
& l! `8 W# O* ~Beat butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Sift together the dry ingredients; add to cream mixture alternately with beaten eggs, beating well after each addition. n# i/ X G6 V' x& g
Turn into greased and floured 8-inch tube pan or 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
) [; g% A( P3 r$ y" G: [Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes in the pan then turn out onto a cake rack. Cool and glaze or frost as desired. Store tightly covered.

I normally strictly follow the amount for each ingredient the recipe calls for, except SUGAR( I prefer to cut it to ¾ or 2/3 of the recipe. It is too sweet for some Chinese. But if you like the sweetness of the Cake Mix you got from super market, you can follow the recipe.7 @/ g% X; H$ s8 O
