% J+ H( V" i: `The Transportation Department is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join its team as an Engineering Technologist I with the Street Lighting Section. Primary functions of this position will include:

· Assist in the condition assessment analysis and preparation of the annual street light capital program and street light rehabilitation and maintenance programs.$ x# k. ]! q p. o& z# h S4 O" J
. V: V: I2 Q6 T. P( J· Street light programs include street light group relamping, critical poles, fallen poles, system damage reports (SDR), alley lighting requests, conceptual estimates for in-house capital programs and Streets Engineering capital programs.5 V, c+ H8 W+ [; A5 l' l/ O

· Recording accurately and maintaining street light and trolley graphical and non graphical data information in accordance with applicable procedures and practices using GeoMedia software.

· Performing inspection services related to street light and signal SDR’s ensuring compliance to the City of Edmonton Road and Walkway Lighting Manual.

· Preparing conceptual street light estimates for the installation and maintenance of street light and trolley system as requested by City Departments and /or outside agencies using GeoMedia software. o- e5 e. L9 [

· Coordinating information from surveyors and developers/consultants for retrieval of accurate street light/trolley as-built information.

· Performing administrative functions such as filing plans, responding to inquiries from citizens, councilors and city departments, and compiling data and information through research.6 X$ \% D$ Q7 V

JOB REQUIREMENTS:% U* [4 a+ F9 L. L- } J

· Two (2) year Diploma in Electrical, Civil, Material and/or in equivalent Engineering Technology program with a minimum two years experience in traffic operations, street lighting, traffic signal control, roadway construction and/or utility engineering.$ C# \8 O# u/ o

· Training and experience with GeoMedia, Microstation V8, GEA and all Windows based applications.$ ^: R8 V3 k4 C- E( L3 E8 c

· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and skills in technical report and letter writing.6 Q/ ^4 V9 V' N1 N C8 D* ]7 }5 x! z
