Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
5 p+ M0 I M. D' ~- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services

- prepare and send AGM information to members
% d% F. F# x9 D- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.1 X$ G+ l. G( I( Y# j2 h
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities& Y/ S* W* l& @9 r; d

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre1 j( ^. ~5 Q b0 o }( N8 \
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
+ G& G) K' o3 K0 Q. g' a* Z) B7 K- assist in writing proposal for ISP: O- @3 ~" e* z8 v
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP$ x; \( @' _, s1 u' m1 i% K
- explore new ideas for ISP

- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications
% q! a" J$ B, }! m) U- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
& t2 s+ F' k( J9 X. [/ K- good oral and written Chinese and English skills/ j& p6 `6 O+ i8 K5 Z3 p9 i
- experience in community work and immigrant services
" G' I2 H: x9 C& G% Q- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
