Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team.

- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies

- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members% d/ R( {6 A" m7 l. @* L6 o" l
- submit information for community news 3 ]5 c! H! E4 h: z
- prepare and send AGM information to members2 U1 u3 F; C4 Y
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- update ASSIST website! d& `+ c8 f. H# q L8 e$ I- g
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
4 }5 p4 B6 P* i0 u2 g2 h% [0 @. E- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
Q5 ?; x, R& C7 f' a" ]8 T- assist in writing proposal for ISP
* J4 v% D) X3 k! f- write quarterly and final reports for ISP, E, K& [5 V- W$ u4 X$ D, o
- explore new ideas for ISP ' i+ N' S- b H1 |7 W( q
- hold regular meetings with ISP team. ] c- W+ t& a) s+ Q) @
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

Qualifications
6 y% g5 X$ J4 V, B) H, k( c- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
6 ]1 A S6 f8 x: ]$ d% X- good oral and written Chinese and English skills* u b3 T# g' t$ J6 E I9 H9 {
- experience in community work and immigrant services
& b+ R4 P( \+ O r. k- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars7 a: l& q4 e1 l' l1 U2 |

- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
