7 A6 Z$ A* _2 y: |+ ?5 o# UPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. ( y- s( m3 g A+ W) [, L0 P$ F: d' K

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community& ]2 ?8 i9 L5 [' e& K$ |# A6 v! G
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
/ E3 R5 J3 ]( _5 q/ ^% M1 p# [5 ~- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services' c1 B+ Y k/ m$ L% D
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies4 k9 |, z/ H8 Z+ Q- x. R
- coordinate good will activities
5 Z. y p+ [: V) P5 H* o- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.: y! F) I/ ]1 L5 F' R; s, F
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre Q6 J. i/ U0 e. ` Y
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services# ^$ T. h5 j; c8 {7 g7 l$ `
- assist in writing proposal for ISP
+ N" u& ?" e7 ~$ C o5 s- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- hold regular meetings with ISP team

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)8 {* {/ N% {' O# V# L" s5 ]

Qualifications6 P6 }. E. E. T: K$ ?
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education 6 ?8 K6 u# @2 G l
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
: Z# z0 \/ a3 D' K5 X3 V- experience in community work and immigrant services
& {( x- a8 D: w `8 v- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars& ~' [3 Q* c4 C2 } u" ?0 q
- leadership skills
