Job Description

•        is accountable to the Board for the achievement of the agency’s vision mission and goals

•        assist the Board in fund development planning and implementation5 @7 H9 N1 w4 d4 V* Q

•        is accountable for effective administration of agency

Staff
7 H$ v$ X! x* N! q( v, u•        responsible for recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal and termination of staff* t  T1 G* |  ^( H
•        provide leadership to staff and volunteers  ]% w6 H5 v& l- @1 R! R. B. ]
•        provide day to day leadership to support staff in programming functions  v4 j4 b' n- E
•        monitor progress of agency service providers and coordinators
0 a3 b5 I4 n& v. s* o5 ^& h" H•        provide opportunities for staff development and growth
% c: S. {- b6 W: D& m- O" G•        meet with staff on regular basis% h9 o9 Q1 _8 Z  }
•        build and maintain collegial and strong working relationships with staff/ R- {' O, x' _# ^4 z, M3 d
* e- a: }# D5 R9 D* k2 t  U
Programs/Services: E0 T- H+ M# Z, N+ `& ?" |
•        overall management of all agency projects/programs and services
2 {) {$ W2 n6 r/ R•        design, develop and monitor client-centred programs and activities
: [9 B2 f( M# M1 n, S•        prepare, complete and submit all program proposals including budgets and reports to the funders and key stakeholders
) ]/ A% `( F. [6 n& ~+ G•        set program priorities and directions
" p8 K7 E" e; U& _- n•        identify community and user needs and trends
' K+ ]( D# W8 P% x, q  |1 h•        implement and monitor programs and community activities to meet identified needs and trends
7 a  [1 ]# h1 k2 N•        conduct program evaluation/survey/research- H5 L7 E" T1 L) C# b0 X0 S
•        maintenance of appropriate reporting6 M3 a+ ~8 z8 N( E' D2 i% s
•        delivery of program or activity to participants as required7 U* P% r+ ]. R1 ^
•        build on knowledge of community resources in program development
3 g* O0 f5 F4 h8 O8 u' ^•        ensure programs serve to enhance the coping capacities and well-being of people by removing inhumane systems or barriers and to empower people to work on positive changes in themselves and in others, @8 s  v! g/ f1 [; F2 H

External Relations
% D0 H: n6 V) |; M8 [$ [5 ~9 X6 U•        act as community liaison and cultural broker between the immigrant community and other communities
( Z& h' v& R& ^# E! ?•        build, maintain strong relationships with all levels of governments, businesses, community groups, public  & funders0 M. K) u1 a" N  q: z
•        communicate the value of the organization to the public
9 c" |6 y( Y/ V$ f3 j+ |! n•        identify community needs and trends
8 M& F0 I! n/ X4 a•        coordinate and monitor significant programs through liaison/partnership with other community groups
' }: K) Q* X- X/ K& b2 \•        advocate, educate, promote cross-cultural respect & understanding of immigrants, visible minorities & other at risk or multi-risks groups4 @. f# n: {1 l" K1 }& M
•        work with community and social agencies/groups to raise awareness of systemic issues affecting people from a broad socio-economic spectrum to social policy makers and to lobby for social changes in society, legislation and systems.9 e7 B* V0 B4 i; _0 Q  O) H
•        Identify funding opportunities and resources that enhance the agency programs/services and staff- \2 H$ \$ n4 w! |

/ V  }3 n: N7 D4 qQualifications0 B. m7 b& Q3 E. y& o) ~
-        University degree in a related field;
. R4 J& A* L  b4 ?! x: X5 n! B; d-        Knowledge of leadership and management principles as relate to nonprofit / voluntary organization;# P# C3 `9 |4 w5 ?0 W& p3 B
-        Knowledge of human resources management, financial management, project management, fund development and organizational management; & Y% m7 f' c& d& O4 h% ?: z* q2 k/ m
-        2 or more years of progressive management experience in a voluntary sector organization ' w* ~  m! g" i; H" P) |1 b. c

' ?) k* I. f- c  v. CSalary" R5 i/ L* \8 t/ G  @& p
-        $50,000 - $55,000 + benefits - s, ]- L4 h' Z
. [: p% @; l! t3 S
