Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities+ K# N) P1 V9 D7 X
- submit information for community news
& D% ~ @% t( q- provide volunteers to update membership database d5 q$ t: {% u" O# |
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
1 @1 v8 ~+ r0 N8 y$ d4 n- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties T% P% m& r9 l/ Z
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
" v0 F8 ^( y3 E! W% P7 E- provide volunteers for various programs $ y3 w1 v5 G7 M, Y9 W8 K _ s
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
! ?) d' H) `; Y% U# N- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
0 ^1 }3 D z4 \& s- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities, K m/ H [0 [9 H) x) `1 x
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services8 w |! k0 _3 m1 _7 N4 M* w! _
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
6 U- G2 |0 f6 W, h5 j D1 G& Y' X- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed$ a. D" a4 L0 r, h' N3 D
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed- E2 p4 _ F7 W% k
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)' y1 ~9 T! {# _, \+ l" U
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
* f2 U. L9 }! _# M$ H; K ]- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
4 M& X1 u7 e( ^ }- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
. q5 T9 ?, D) U) O4 ?& A& a- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

+ u! J% ?/ m1 S' E3 B- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
- m6 j$ V: W( b5 R* o4 K1 M- good oral and written Chinese and English skills5 r( m/ B$ N1 ?& h7 S5 t
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services9 ?- I1 N: ^2 ?
- leadership skills
3 F' _- M# N9 U$ n' ]- management and supervision skills
