CALGARY — Screams filled the air after a 17-year-old teen was killed after being struck in the head with a pickaxe at a house party. 9 y6 f- Z, Y4 p4 r' x
2 ]# c, w, j; s8 ]* I9 ZNeighbours said about 100 teens were at a house in southeast Calgary when the attack happened in a detached garage about 11:50 p.m. Saturday.

“I was standing out back having a cigarette then I heard a kid screaming, ‘They killed him,’ then they all scattered,” said Jeff, who didn’t want to give his last name.

Friends identified the dead teen as Matt McKay, 17. 5 `& l: D, n1 b/ Z/ f

Staff Sgt. Kevin Forsen said police are currently interviewing more than 40 witnesses to the attack.
