0 T% T" `# J3 Y4 K" w& A! r: LA forest firefighter is dead following a weekend helicopter crash northeast of Fort McMurray in northern Alberta.

The helicopter was travelling from a forestry staging area near Johnson Lake and was headed back to the city when the crash happened at about 8 p.m. Sunday night, according to the Transportation Safety Board.

"There was a second helicopter in the vicinity that saw it go down so they got there as fast as they could," said Doug Knight, spokesman for Alberta's provincial employees union, which represents the firefighters.

2 c( r$ M8 [+ ?; zThe pilot and three more passengers survived the crash. Police will not release the name of the man who died in the crash until relatives have been notified.
