2. Marketing and Promotion

focuses upon advertising and promoting the venue to faculty,
6 \- M f/ D+ v( ~: t: nstudents, and internal and external clients on an on-going basis.
7 W6 d @0 s* X JThis strategy will include implementing and/or delegating the following:" F2 W3 }1 m4 K1 L& J8 h8 f0 P
· To develop and maintain promotional materials, the Horowitz ' j; `& Z# E" |" `) I8 D
Theatre and SU Venues home page, newspaper and other advertising; to
5 `* F/ k) G, J& ttake advantage of other internal and external advertising
) X! M/ k5 _: ?5 T) [. K# gopportunities; and to develop press releases and other promotional 9 m n2 T% {7 w! B/ q

· To coordinate tours of the venues for potential renters.

use of the Horowitz Theatre Home Page and the SU Events Calendar.

3. Staff and Supervisory Roles and Responsibilities

5 h' b( j" J% W- h) Wa. To ensure, at all times, that the venues are adequately and cost-
8 V1 t8 v G2 C% k* u- m3 r; ^* v/ reffectively staffed, and that the staff utilized by or within the
: m& V* Z; W: B9 t5 I* k; avenues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and needs, and
/ l. |! h+ X$ u6 ccontribute in a positive way to the smooth operation and success of
9 ?8 H ~% S6 n) qthe renter´s events. This includes, but is not necessarily limited $ I; S! |: d. b* O8 S- @5 _+ ]6 ]
to, the following:
6 B+ k J* A6 ^ Y3 C· To be responsible, under the direction of the Manager of Venues y# L3 K5 o8 g/ k& B" N
and Programming, for all staff issues including hiring, disciplining,
* F& \0 e8 p5 y7 n Eevaluating and terminating, as necessary.6 E# @/ Q) b3 \) B0 _+ ~* W0 m
To ensure that the Horowitz Theatre is adequately supervised at
3 j7 z( \% v. R0 b/ G# `. n; rall times, this includes the development and implementation of such ' B. v4 d1 I6 b& l0 m Q4 x
schedules and rosters as may be necessary to ensure the effective and ! g1 m0 E& j, I4 g$ J
cost-effective supervision of the venues at all times during which it
+ n/ ?3 u. _4 k# k9 n j1 e1 V& Zis in operation or needs to be in operation.2 ]+ O& s1 z- S8 {3 P
· To work with the Technical Director, when necessary, to ensure - s" P) d; g! Z1 E5 t8 E" t3 j: |5 T
that an adequate and appropriate level of part-time staff exists to 2 g/ Y! e: C0 a5 C
facilitate the smooth operation of the venues and to ensure all
( V8 q: m6 e+ c1 Irenters needs are met.
* _- _) q/ `# d· To work with the Technical Director to ensure that the skills - r8 t/ ~3 ^4 i/ x/ o
and attitudes of all subordinate staff are appropriate in light of

effective training (and re-training) in all applicable and : s# ^6 g* D: g5 ?0 B
appropriate areas, and ensuring that the Policy and Procedures manual ) m `( u+ E7 C' d, a

· To ensure all staff are trained in and committed to providing

the appropriate setup/tear down of each venue.

· To function as the key player in the submission of financial and

· To discuss those financial statements and other reports, together

aimed at improving the financial and/or functional effectiveness of

· To develop accurate documentation to be used in connection with # P+ L3 }( L. V1 r, y7 \2 X# @% s4 W* `
the billing clients, and to forward such documentation in a timely 6 U. B3 _; Z* z' e

· To recognize, address and handle all matters relating to financial

renting the venues meet the appropriate standards, requirements and
! N& P; O6 S3 K3 n6 N' n E4 Bneeds, and contribute to the smooth operation and success of the $ R C' {; \; d2 S: ^! g- t
venues. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

· To recognize, develop and set in place such rental procedures as

to ensure the smooth, secure, efficient, cost-effective and

· To recognize, develop and set in place such operational procedures # ?# L& s' {1 a# w- A
as may be necessary to ensure the smooth, efficient and cost-

· To negotiate rental lease agreements (contracts) relating to
" z; }2 B: z- @4 @2 sdates, rates, staff and miscellaneous charges.

particular event in the venues.

supporting information as it may need to effectively fulfill the

, g3 t9 p: T' _! @rental with consultation with the Technical Director.
; Y, w: O9 q! g9 {. m0 Q$ K M: F· To ensure that all queries raised with the venues whether from the ?+ A$ K$ J& r0 v; `7 a, g7 o5 y
SU or renters, are promptly and effectively handled and adequately
$ b, r8 _% W4 l6 ~% L5 N6 Panswered, and to ensure that such action as may be necessary in - ^$ j1 r1 k2 P( z/ u, y4 |- e+ [
follow-up to such queries is taken in a timely manner.( C, }$ a( r. R1 [
To ensure that the venues and its capabilities are adequately,
' a8 ^: P* i$ }effectively and cost-effectively advertised and promoted, and that 3 F" b. \4 x, _6 x5 L# Q/ O( a
the cost of such endeavors does not exceed the budgetary provision
. F7 ~* \% R. H+ ^made for them unless prior approval is given by the Manager of

· To act as an informed and knowledgeable resource in the case of ' X2 {% T8 N1 C
significant challenges and/or problems surrounding the tasks of
